If you need to get data off an old harddrive then this is the way to go. I can't say I'd trust it to keep one connected constantly but for short data transfer it's excellent.

Works as advertise. The only problem I have with it, is the joint or the cable to the SATA adapter separates from the housing, exposing the cabling.

This was a lifesaver. I thought I lost all my pictures, but this worked on another desktop to recover my files.

The adapter seemed to work just how it was designed just not powerful enough. I was attempting to transfer data off of my 2tb disk drive but when connected would now show the disk drive in my files as connected. I assume its because the USB cannot draw enough power to start up a disk drive of that size. It my work great for a smaller drive but I am not sure. Other reviews say it worked great for them but honestly at the price point there is not much to lose. If you do have a bigger drive I would recommend one that has a separate power cable or just get a Sata cable and a power cable and connect directly to the power supply.

I had a hard drive in a broken laptop with some data I wanted. I know I could have tried to run a live Linux distro off a USB stick and install the SSD into my current laptop, but this was plenty cheap and worked perfectly. Honestly, the cable is kind of short and stiff, but I don't see this as something for daily use. I'm sure it'd break after a while, but for me it was perfect
