Canadian Xpress Tanlin (Nilnat) 20Ml Concentrate Kill Root Eating Fungus Gnats

Excellent product and although expensive it should last for ages.Note that it is important to shake the bottle and then stir vigorously after adding a drop to water - otherwise the drop does not disperse and the product will not work. It also takes a bit of time, because it only works on larvae, not adults.I have seen a drastic reduction in the number of fungus gnats on my indoor and greenhouse plants after about three weeks, and will definitely continue to use this regularly.

This took quite a long time to arrive, and despite it being highly concentrated, still find it quite pricey, especially considering I am not sure whether this works at all. At first I thought it did, but since, have a new infestation (the eggs often seem to be in compost or worm casts, which is probably unavoidable to some extent), and have treated all the plants' soil with this, and a day or two later, there seem to be just as many flies, plus, when you tap the pot, freshly hatched ones are coming out from the soil (I assume they're freshly hatched, but don't know this for sure, I have to say). I have tried using double the dose, which was already higher than recommended. You're supposed to add two drops to 4 litres of water, but was adding two drops to one litre of water, then tried re-watering adding 3-4 drops to one litre, but still have flies. I thought initially that this was maybe not working well because the liquid organic fertiliser I was using at the same time might be interfering with this product, but have since tried watering all plants with clean water containing only this product in high dose, and have made sure that I fully drenched the soil. Based on this recent performance, I would give less than 3 stars, but it seemed to work reasonably well when I tried it first time. There were still a few flies, but not nearly as many as before using this. I guess the best thing I can say is that it seems to partially work some of the time, and that's being generous... The high concentration may be practical is some respects, but it means that you have to make at least 2 litres of dilute (one drop would be recommended dosage). I will not be buying this again. Previously, I used Gnat Off from Guard 'n Aid, which contains a bacteria which kills the larvae, sadly no longer available, as I found it to be highly effective and fast acting, but am trying another product with bacillus (bti), mosquito bits, same product range as the dunks, but which comes in little chunks that can be sprinkled around the soil before watering (unfortunately, only seems to be available dispatched from US, so postage costs are high and takes a long time to arrive).

It helped get rid of the flies for a while, but was VERY expensive for what it was. Further to this - Try using this, and at the same time use those yellow sticky greenhouse flycatchers around the rim of the pots (I cut them into smaller pieces to do this). This has certainly been the best way I have found to get rid of the sciarid flies. The liquid kills the larvae, but the flies just lay more, so you need to get rid of the flies as well. I have been fly free for two years and have only just noticed a few returnees. I will be treating them asap.

Been using this for years. It just works.

Useless doesn't work. Now my plants are stressed due to drenching and problem persists after three applications, no sign of improvement. If I had to be fair to the product I could add maybe my plant problem isn't gnat and that is why it doesn't work!
