First, I want to address a review by Kris W below, titled - Do not buy this desk! Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2024This review is bad, but it's also because the user is a bad. Complete user error. Yes, the instructions are overly complex and the hardware for this desk is somewhat unique. This is the issue that I am 100% the customer mentioned ran into. The screws that are used to hold the desk together are actually screws with anchor together. I was stubborn myself and ignored most of the instructions, and had the same issue, the desk would fall apart if I tried to move it. Reviewing instructions it was clear that I was missing the crucial thing, which is - you put the screw with the blue plastic bit into the hole designed for it and then you screw it in, the plastic expands, essentially working like an anchor, only then do you add the other pieces and use the metal caps to tighten it. Once I figured it out, easy-peasy, the desk is sturdy and holds together well. At least as well as you would expect a $300 desk to be. The metal seems a little weak, but for $300 it's phenomenal. Can't guarantee it enough.

I assembled this desk on my own, and if you're fairly handy you shouldn't have much of a problem either. I would recommend not using at least the screwdriver inside though, because a "real" one would make your life easier. I should also mention, I got both my boxes at the same time, and when you open it to the instructions it will tell you to look for an instructional video, but dont waste your time because they havent made one for this product yet. Personally I found the instructions easy enough to understand, just pay attention to cut outs and hole locations to guide you. It is a beautiful desk with tons of room and lots of storage!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: make sure parts 6 & 7 are correctly labeled or suffer the consequences! 6 attaches to the front cross board of the desk and 7 is the back piece with no screw holes. My set came mis labeled and caused a lot of headache to unassemble everything I had put together for 10 previous stepsOther than that…… this desk is awesome! Super spacious and sturdy. Plenty of space for 2 monitors plus laptop stand on the side. I use this desk to work from home and game in my spare time. Would recommend

Terrible setup experience. There are screw holes referenced in the instructions that weren’t pre-drilled. The instructions only show one image at one angle for each step, and there were many times that important details were obscured due to the depiction’s point of view. The instructions make it seem as though you should re-orient the pieces. For example, the desk might be upright for one step and then on its side for another. Only problem is the wood and screws are so cheap that you’re likely to break something if you try re-arranging the desk to meet the depiction. This was especially prominent when the instructions very clearly said to not drill up from underneath the desk, but by that point, the desk was almost fully built and lifting it up on its side to screw in the pieces underneath the desk would’ve been an even worse idea. The entire process probably took 4 hours, maybe longer. It was frustrating every step of the way. Everyone gives IKEA a hard time for being cheap and having terrible instructions. This make IKEA look world class.

I haven’t even finished the desk yet and it’s just filled with missing stickers for parts and crudely made pieces. This would equate to me removing one star.For another star, the instructions are absolutely terrible, please prepare to figure out building this desk on your own. Many of the diagrams do NOT show all holes/slits that certain pieces have so it can be easy to identify, nor do they label where each piece such as screws will go, so you have to guess which part is going to go where. For your sake, I hope your parts come properly labeled since I had to figure these out for myself to get to where I am.I will keep my review at a three because the desk might actually still be sturdy in the end of things, but if it isn’t, I’m dropping this to a one-star because I will have to dismantle this thing and truck it to a refund location. Please take care in your manufacturing of parts and re-do your instructions to be more user-friendly.
