Firehouse Technology Arc V Multi-Color Professional Drone Strobe w/Remote Control

The media could not be loaded. This is a review of the new Firehouse Technology Arc V Professional Multicolor Strobe. First off I have been testing different strobes now for a few years, we use these for public safety missions and these are the go to for our team. Its a true commercial strobe with Cree Leds and a boatload of features. There are now so many copies of these that use low quality 1-3 watt chinese leds that frankly thought they state it meets FAA regs in the field far very short, most dont have focused lenses so they seem bright in your hand until you actually get to altitude. Firehouse engineers these for the UAS market, want a top pay 12 buck, want a real strobe that meets faa regs these do the trick. I have posted a video review to see what we mean, but here are the features. Multicolor red white green blue, remote control (short range) controls the strobe or multiple strobes, waterproof, angled lens for side visibility at range, multiple modes which help us id when we have different aircraft in the air, we can change the light pattern or color which is a great benefit when using 2 or more drones, colors also allow if of position and orientation at night as required by faa. We also purchased there custom mounts for the mavic 3T from there website that mounts them on arms , and we velcro one to top as needed. The xpe2 Leds are 10 watt so 1000 lumen these things are just blinding, which the remote helps with at night as we don't have to be right over strobe when turned on and ruin our night vision. They also now have a memory so when you find a light pattern and color you want to use it remembers that and comes back on where you left off. Run time in strobe modes was in excess of 5 hours which was just great and was a quick recharge with leds to indicate charge status. Bottom line if you want a well made commercial strobe these guys have it down. They are very well reviewed and we require something that outperforms for the type of flying we do. We do know they are waterproof as one of the aircraft found the bottom of a pnd, and the light helps us locate it underwater, which is one of the reasons we use this as its independent of the aircrafts battery system so when lost easier to find as it stays ON. The lights are amazing. Very much, recommend. However, the included instruction sheet is poor at best. Asking tech support for clarification is just as poor.The controls work as follows:The "Lock" button is the "On" and "Off" button once you've held the power button on the light for 3 seconds.The center "Lightning Bolt" button is the Mode Up Button; the same as pressing the Power button on the light.The "Lock" button on the remote is Mode Down.There are 27 different modes (colors and patterns). If you press mode up (or down) 28 times, you will come back to the light pattern you started at.I bought four of these lights. One remote controlled them all. This could be problematic depending on your scenario. They are blindingly bright. Pictures and videos just don't do them justice. The 3M adhesives are top notch. Highly recommend for SAR Drones and PPG. A Remote trigger wire would be cool.

The light works great! I would assume it's definitely visible at it's advertised distance, and it holds a charge great. I found this out by not realizing this was incompatible with my anker products, and it held the same charge for over a month! This isn't a terrible issue, as it comes with a included cord. I just never use the included cords with devices, and was always under the impression USB-C has no incompatibilities.I had reached out to the company thinking i got a faulty product, and they sent a new one that arrived in just a couple days no questions asked. It was after plugging the second light into my anker cords and it not charging, i knew something had to be up with my cords. using the cords included, the lights charge fine. I even messaged the company back offering to pay for or return the new light at my expense, and they told me i can keep it.I've only heard good things about the company, and i'm happy i can add to the great things i've heard.

This light is really bright. I can see it from about 3 km away. It is very light, yet feels very sturdy and I really like the finish, feels good in the hand. When placed on my drone it does not feel like it would not fall off as its gery light and the velcro strong. The battery life is really good as I get about 4 to 5 hours of use. When the battery is low it does not lose its brightness. The charge port is USB C so I don't have to carry another cable around but can use what I already have even tho it comes with one. There are also nymph colors and light patterns which I find very useful depending on where I use it. Congress with a remote that can change the patterns without having to use the button on the device itself, makes it easier to change while hovering close by. Recommend this to any drone pilot.

These strobes are BRIGHT, but in order to be visible for three nautical miles they have to be.The first one I received acted a little wonky while scrolling through the modes. A quick email to Firehouse resolved the issue.Awesome product, stellar customer service.If you plan on flying your drone at night, you need this strobe.

A little pricy, but performs as stated. Remote is a little finicky. I don’t use the remote too much.

I do like the light. It is very bright and visible and meets the FAA requirements for nighttime drone flights. The remote works but doesn't add much to the usefulness of the product. My only disappointment is the Velcro attachment system. Even with cleaning the drone with alcohol before attaching the Velcro strip it pulled off of the drone the second time I removed the light. I will have to find a new attachment method.
