I bought this for a very unusual purpose. I'm buying glasses online and I needed to measure my PD, or the distance between the pupils. There are flimsy rulers available for the task, but for about the same price I bought this digital caliper that works perfectly. Because it's digital, you can focus on taking an accurate measurement first, then read the value on the display. It even came with a spare set of batteries.The only thing that I did to make measuring easier is that I painted the tips of the tool white so that they stood out more clearly against a dark background.

This is a marvelous tool. I've been using it multiple times a day for a year and it still is on the battery that came with it, still accurate to 0.1mm or 0.01 inch. It turns on the instant you move the slide caliper, turns off shortly after stopping, also has manual on/off. Smooth, precise, easy to use. Delightful! Really good design, well executed.

Works great. Can be used to determine exact size wrench or socket needed. Recommend it.

The video was misleading when I was trying to find the battery compartment, but that's okay!It seems to work well to me! This will make laying out beadsmithing projects a little easier! Thank you so much! ^^
