It actually works on 18 TB HDD's
This really works. It is recognized at boot and it works well attaching after boot too when the OS is running. Im using a 18 terabyte HDD and i have had no issues. This is a vital product and part of any techie's kit.I wish i would have bought this before I tried other products.

Faltaría el adaptador tipo c hembra a USB macho
Muy práctico y funcional, solo deben agregar el adaptador de tipo c hembra a USB macho y estaría mucho más perfecto

Watch you SSD size before ordering.
This worked great on a 250gb and 500gb ssd and also worked on a 1tb m.2. But did not work on an SSD 2tb in size. so watch what size drive you use this for.

Worked with both SATA and NVVMe
Worked well with SATA SSD and NVMe. It could be a little sturdier but it is small, light weight and easy to add to my tool kit.

Defective. Returned for refund.
This SATA SSD Drive Reader was defective. I attempted to read three different SATA SSDs straight frorm my desktop PC. The Reader powered up, but would not read any of the drives when connected to each one individually as per the Instruction Manual. And when I reinstalled the drives into my computer, all three worked perfectly. I have no doubt it was not the retailer's fault.

Lots of compromises but cheaper than the competition
This is a challenging product to review & score. It has a lot of potential, but some other curious choices. The unequivocally best things I can say about this product is that you can use & power a 2.5" SATA SSD with just the device itself; you only need the AC adapter if you're using a 3.5" HDD (which makes sense). I tested this directly, but I've also included a screenshot of the instruction manual, because I couldn't find that clearly stated on the Amazon product page. Also, my SATA drive (a Microcenter "Inland Platinum" model) performed reasonably well, getting 350-375 MB/s (~2,800 - 3,000 Mbps) write speeds for a single 1.2GB file. It is the same level of performance I get on a USB 3.1 enclosure with the same drive and the same test, at any rate.I dislike the permanent *and* short USB-C cable. My PC is on my desktop, and my front-panel USB-C connections are on the top. The cable is barely 12" long, and my computer case is more than 18" tall. This means I'm perching this enclosure and its attached drive on top of the case. I suppose that's OK for me, but if your only USB-C 3.2 connections are on the back of your motherboard, the cable is just too short, and there's not anything you can do about it.This product isn't really an "enclosure," and I'm not sure how I feel about that... maybe more pro than con. It *does* make the product really, *really* small, and therefore highly portable. I really do like how small it can be bundled-up for storage. This design choice does mean that there's no support offered to the drive when using the SATA connection. Given the cable perching problem discussed above, this makes me a little more concerned and extra careful when using this; I don't want to inadvertently snap something at the connection point.I was unable to review the M.2 functionality, but if what the other commenters are saying is true---that it requires a NVME in an M.2 form-factor and will not work with a SATA M.2 form-factor---this is concerning, though probably a diminishing concern as NVME is a superior interface for the M.2 form factor, and my anecdotal experience suggests that most M.2 drives *are* NVME. I attempted to search up the Axlum brand's website, and while one exists, there's no firmware update for this drive (this unit isn't even listed anywhere on the website, anyhow), and the software provided is hosted through Google Drive. None of this is a good sign for longevity. Sabrent manufactures a device functionally identical to this (though physically larger) for $80. If you can get this for $40 or less and only need light use, it might be worthwhile.
