The quality of this tungsten is great, but it is radioactive! My Geiger counter measures 0.185 millirems per hour. That's 37 times the background radiation level that my meter measured in my area. This is still a small amount of radiation, but if it gets in your lungs as a part of grinding, it's a clear cancer risk. Since there are other excellent tungsten alloys, I'll chose to use them instead. Denmark is in the process of banning thoriated tungsten for this reason. If you are a diehard thoriated fan, this brand will not disappoint. If you are worried about your health, try lanthanated.

Works just as good as name brand tungsten available at my local welding supply store but at a better value!

I am learning how to TIG weld and I am just waiting on my welding gas. I got these so I would have a variety of different electrodes to practice with. There are different color electrodes and each color stands for a different type of metal composition. These are red tip which means it is 2% Thoriated. It is a good general purpose electrode. Since I have not tried them yet and can’t speak to how well they do. Once I get up and welding, I will update the review.

I bought a box of consumables with the torch. However, the ceramic nozzle shields are just the tiniest bit smaller and won’t screw on to torch.Arccaptain wants a video but am having difficulties sending it to them

In addition to making great welders and plasma, cutters, Arccaptain also makes excellent consumables. These tungsten electrodes are high-quality for excellent welding. Look online for what’s best for the welding you’re doing, and Arccaptain will have affordable tungstens for your purpose.
