REVIEW OF N300 2.4GHZ ONLY MODEL - NOT THE DUAL BAND MODELNo techno talk or over analysis here... I plugged it in close to my router, followed the VERY easy instructions in the quick start guide and boom!!... connected to my Vodafone Home Internet 4G router. That took about 90 seconds in total. Moved it to a socket about half way between my router and the area we had a very weak wifi signal, plugged in and waited for the lights to go blue. That took about another minute in total. Tested the wifi signal and much, much stronger than before. Total installation time then was around 2 and a half minutes. Now have a strong, stable wifi signal in an areas that before we hardly had a signal at all and kept loosing wifi. Went for this model because of the twin external aerial which to my way of thinking anyway must be better than the internal aerial on other low cost extenders. Anyway, it took no time at all to install, caused no stress and helps get a really strong and usable wifi signal to an area of the house where we couldn't get a signal before. What's there not to like about that? I paid £17.99 for this little device which has provided a stress free solution to a problem and that in my book anyway is a fantastic, instant return of investment. To say I am impressed is a bit of an understatement, I had never come across TP-Link before until I started to look at wifi extenders but if I need anything like this in the future I will look at their products as my first port of call. Excellent all round purchase and 2 and a half minutes of my Sunday well spent!

Good coverage, easy set up. Great value

I've had an old colour LaserJet which I moved to my new house, but it only has ethernet connection and is too big to go in the room with the router so it's been sitting unloved in the study. Rather than drill a hole in the wall, I googled it and read about using a wifi extender to make an old printer wifi-able, so I thought I'd try this. I plugged the extender in, plugged the ethernet cable from the printer into it, pressed the wps button on the Sky router, pressed the button on the extender and that was it, it worked straight away. No need to do anything else, the printer was still on my MacBook from the previous house. Prints quickly on wifi, not had any problems using it. Even prints from my Samsung phone (I think the printer uses airprint). Fantastic. So easy. It seems to create a wifi with the same name as the first router with _EXT e.g. SKY9999_EXT but it doesn't seem to matter, everything just works fine.

Was about ready to kick this into the long grass... WPS set up did not pull through the vodafone wifi network password as expected and detailed in the instructions. Setup via Web GUI - finally connectivity was good on 2.4GHz. Then discovered I was unable to connect any device to the main vodafone network wifi. After some checks found this was due to DHCP being completely knackered. Tried disabling DHCP on the extender but this had no effect. Have found AP mode for this device works as expected so able to make use of the unit although not as originally intended. May be unconfirmed compatability issues with my router - buyer beware.

I have quite a large amount of TP link products, their cameras (wifi) and wifi switches, and this repeater was so so easy to set up, and it allows you to extend the range of your home wifi router so that my TP link items which are just on the outskirts of my homes wifi, can be boosted with a much better signal. You can use this is a repeater using the same SSID (eg 'myhomewifi' or change the SSID (eg 'myhomewifiext'. ) I also love using TP links TETHER app, so useful, (for android and os), this allows you to access items such as this TP-Link N300 to be accessed way beyond the limits of your home using your normal 4g phone/tablet.

Bought to extend wifi range for when working at home in a corner of the house. This device is easy to set up but after some speed tests it actually SLOWS DOWN the already weak signal. I have no idea how that works but have run several speed tests on 2 devices with the range extender on and off. Whenever the extender is on the wifi signal drops. Completely useless.

Used this as a booster to garden cabin, works perfectly. Now got the needed extended WiFi.
