Perfect Replacement PS for Synology 211 that's about 6 years old. It's been running now for about a month, 24x7, with not a single problem. The Synology has two 3 1/2 inch drives, 2 Gigs each. When you open the shipping box, the instructions warn you about temperature. I attached a temperature probe on the side of the power supply and left it there for several weeks. The temperature never went over 105 degrees Fahrenheit or 41 degrees Centigrade. I am completely satisfied.

I needed this for a Western Digital EX2 Ultra NAS which came without a power supply. This was a perfect replacement for the original and the product works flawlessly. This is a high quality power cord which works with my hard drive perfectly.

The pin on the plug for this adapter is longer than than the pin on the Synology original adapter. This adapter works but it leaves a bit of the plug metal exposed which is not optimal and kind of a risk for electrical problems. Synology says you can get the exact part from New Egg. The adapter works and my NAS runs with the adapter but having the conductor exposed is a bit of a hazard.

WD mycloud EX2 ultra

I bought one, and it worked well on my DS218+ until it stopped functioning after 40 days. I bought another one to give it another chance, and this time, as soon as I plugged it in, the NAS started to smell burnt. Now my NAS is broken and no longer works, while the charger seems to be fine since the light is still on

I bought this as a replacement power supply to my Synology DS218J NAS about two weeks ago. The cable fits very loosely into the NAS power socket, but it turned on nevertheless, so I didn't bother with it as I had to get to work. Fast forward two weeks, when I came home today, I found that my NAS was off and it would not turn on. I tried to make sure that the cable is fully plugged in, and tried different outlets, but it's still not working - I have a feeling either the cable is faulty, or the loose fit with the socket damaged something in the NAS. I don't know if this fits power sockets on other NAS well, but beware that the cable DOES NOT FIT the Synology DS218J like they advertised!!1 star for working for two weeks.
