Lovely to look at, writes smoothly, screw in converter!
Excellent pen, and at the price unbelievable value. The medium nib writes smoothly and lays down a lot of ink for being a medium. Using it with JHerbin's Emeraude de Chivor shimmer ink, and it's flowing beautifully (although the line isn't broad enough for the shimmer). I usually prefer a broad nib, other than a few note taking pens (small notebooks mean fine nibs so you can get more on a page...), and I'd love to have one of these with a broad nib.Very pretty, on a desk with other fountain pens that I have in rotation right now, it looks right at home despite being a fraction of most of the other pens' prices. Note that this particular pen has a VERY fat body. Again, I like the feel of a large pen barrel, so exactly what I wanted. Just know that it will not fit into some of the small capacity ink bottles you may have. That made me a little edgy because that meant pulling the converter to fill that way, and that's when I discovered the converter is a screw in and that's a huge plus for me. In my experience screw in converters are less likely to leak. But nothing came with the pen letting me know about that. I was tugging and tugging and then thought hmmm, let's see if it unscrews, and it did. I was very close to stripping the screw in threads. PLEASE let people know if a pen has a screw in converter!I'll be watching for a broad nib... Maybe in bright blue, or orange...

Beautiful pen and wonderful writer
I was curious about this pen because it had an extra-fine nib option (I have many Jinhao pens mostly with medium or broad nibs). Up close it is even prettier than in photos and has a lovely feel in the hand--a combination of tension-reducing width and relatively light weight that reminds me of a large-diameter Taccia pen. The fit and finish are very fine. The piston-fill packs a huge ink volume without the filling process being fiddly. With De Atramentis Merlot ink on Maruman composition books, the nib just sails. I'm about to buy additional pens of this model with different nib sizes and colorways; at this price why not indulge!

Very large pen
It’s a beautiful pen. The perfect wine red color. But it is entirely too large for my grip. This is a very fat pen. If you have large hands, this may work well for you.

AWESOME FOUNTAIN PENS!
People who know nothing about fountain pens should NOT be buying them. The VERY FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO IS CLEAN IT BEFORE USE OR IT WON'T WORK RIGHT. All new fountain pens like these need to be cleaned in something like Simple Green or a good liquid soap. New fountain pens have oils in the feeds and nib and of course they will not work well at all if you don't fully flush them with soap. It amazes me the bad reviews they get from amateurs who don't know this. One thing that makes these super writers is go to one of the big time fountain pen dealers and buy the super fine abrasive cloth to very quickly polish the nib so it writes like silk. You must read how to do this or you can quickly destroy the nibs. It only takes a few strokes to do this correctlly. Once you clean and polish the nibs they are what I make notes with all the time. The other thing is that any fountain pen is not going to write perfectly all the time. If you dont use them alot they can choke on you, but a simple turn of the converter know will move the ink back into the nib in a simple tiny twist and you're back in action. I love this big fat butt pen, it feels so good in the hand for me, look great and perform well if you know what you're doing. I have four of them now and these are a joy and a bargain!

Amazing writing experience for the price
The pen arrived in a plastic bag underneath a heavy item in a soft bag (what could possibly go wrong?), but was in fine condition. The collar that holds the cartridge was jammed into the body of the pen with the gasket hanging off the end, but when retrieved and fixed where it was supposed to be there was no damage done. The pen body is very large with a nib of proportional size. It writes wet with no hard starts, very smooth for the price, and great line quality. The plastic casing feels light and brittle (though it survived my manhandling!), but for such a low price and such a good writing experience, I’m impressed.

Comfortable but breaks easy
I have used this pen since February and yesterday the cap broke. This is the fourth one of these that has broken at the same place. The cap has two layers. The layers separate after 3-4 months of use. This is disappointing since this is my favorite pen to use. It is very comfortable to hold and I can take 50 or more pages of notes in meetings before needing to refill the piston.

This delightful zaftig pen is big fun
This is one fat juicy voluptuous fountain pen with a huge convertor. This is a very smooth writer! Buttery smooth. The medium nib is excellent. I got the ivory color and I am very pleased with it. The acrylic is just translucent enough to remind me of antique white glass. (And I love that.) I may have to order another color or two with different nibs.

GROSS!
This is the first time I've ever ordered this brand of fp. After all the amazing reviews I thought I'd give it a shot... I JUST opened the package as it was delivered and it was covered in this gross rusty grease. It was like rusty grease just exploded all over it. I haven't even tried to put ink in it, as I'm afraid it's completely useless and will be a complete waste of my ink. I won't be purchasing this brand again. 1st impressions matter, and in today's economy, I don't appreciate being ripped off.
