This is a cheap poorly designed waste of money. It’s that simple. You can set it up over the stated range but the product dips and is too weak to support a full rack of clothes. Cheap hardware as well. Buy something else or make with old school wood rod cut to desired length. I was too lazy to go to Home Depot and paid the price. Bought two for a quick solution in my daughters room and threw both in the trash.

Spent a lot of time searching for this type of curtain rod. I kept getting directed to tension bars. Tension bars can be frustrating when they suddenly loose tension. Plus, I wasn’t sure how tension bars would work on drywall (on tile, yes). I didn’t want to damage the walls. These work great. They come with screws and drywall anchors, but with the proper extension of the rod (adding tension as much as possible), there is less stress on the wall holders and therefore less chance that they can get pulled out. As for appearance, the rods are mostly hidden by the curtains, but a more elegant rod would be good (but with the right curtains, hardly noticeable).
