With this I was able to keep old computers hard drive without the need for any tools.

I build PCs regularly, and recently found my old 8tb HHD. I needed it set up, but i didnt have enough mounting space or sata ports for it to go INSIDE my PC. i searched for an enclosure, and this looked to be the best fit for what i needed. I was a little worried at first as some reviews show it snapped etc, but i believe this is just an unfortunate manufacturing/shipping error that can be resolved.Mine arrived perfect, protective wrapping, works exactly as needed and looks nice and slick.

I have several old sata drives i wanted to use as archives and have been looking for a caddy for a while. Decided to give this one a try as it was cost effective and tool free. It was up and running within a few minutes of receipt. The transfer speed achieved from the pc to the external drive was 125 mb/s sustained which is not bad at all. One improvement the manufacturer could make is to improve the top cover as it is quite flimsy but something i can live with as long as the caddy continues to perform. Recommended.

Easy to insert, all be it a little tight, but works perfect and good transfer speed.After living for months with a pc with constant vibration noise, due to the useless screw less design, this has solved the issue. Now I have an external drive rather than internal, but worth it just to get rid of the vibration.

The units feel light when empty and the cases are plasticky, but the electronics are rock solid, the casings mouldings are nicely finished, and the unit's will auto power off if not used for a while.That last feature's pretty important. At this price point most hard drive enclosures have a latching power switch that keeps the drive powered up unless you remember to physically press the button to power it off, and this will invariably lead to unnecessarily hours and wear to the hard drive when you forget to do it.I've now got more than a couple of these enclosures, and they've become my go to product whenever I need to create another USB 3.5" hard drive.
