Decent kit!
The media could not be loaded. Not a bad pedal you know... I'd heard good things and it delivered.Context-- I'm a signed pro musician as of recently with a big group in the USA, and so recieved an advance to upgrade my kit, blessed, truly, God is good right?Five stars because I'm a pedal snob and to me it's a four star pedal but, because of its cost, and who it appeals to, it's a five star sound for that budget. It doesn't sound like an EVH overdrive pedal, or a BOSS (though tbf I prefer the tone of this to the boss sd1) - decent noise control too. I actuslly have a strong dislike for the BOSS SD1. It SUCKS . That's for another review though lol....It's constructed well and you've got to be rediculous if you're able to break these. You're not gona break it using it like a normal person lol. At all. It's easy to use, light weight not too big for your board or bag. It's a great back up pedal or for those on a budget, I just tried it out of curiosity and played live with it for the memes, I attached a short clip of it set low to pick up my sound live for y'all.Since my signing, I now use the EVH 5150 OD, then strymons, mxr, zvex etc, like I said, I'm a pedal snob because now I can be lol, thank you God! I also own a quad cortex for convenience and traveling with. But there's more and more "budget" kit comming out that's honestly holding its own amongst these big expensive brands... This is one of them. Stacks well too!The color, I mean, tbh I don't think it looks like that typical cheap tacky "budget" pedal and has that vintage look to it.. I like it. Looked pretty on my board lol. Not that anyone else can see nor cares.. LmaoI'd totally encourage you to go for it if your finances allow for this type of pedal. Try it. If you don't like it, return it... Thanks to Amazon's free returns! Jst don't wreck it playing Rockstar lmao.I feel it's quite versatile too, I got a few decent tones out of it, and you'll find the type of guitar you use with this also plays a big part in your tone from this pedal. I'd recommend it to tele players for sure.Have a listen to my clip see what you think, it's just with a strymon big sky reverb and a strymon timeline, that's it, eveything else you hear tone wise is from the pedal and guirar. And a ruby Amp mod lol....FYI the guitar I'm using here is another "budget" guitar, the hartwood semi acoustic hallow body with whammy, it's beautiful and sounds awesome, the whammy is brill and it barely drops out of tune too! I was smashing that whammy loads and it didn't go out of tune! It has a thick les Paul sound on them pick ups up to my surprise! High on the the lows, low on the highs! Beefy pickups for sure. Might want an eq if you like mids and highs up like me.Enjoy playing and keep learning guys and girls!... I said it...happy Easter and remember Jesus is the reason for the season! RnfnR

Great,pedal that works well 👍
Very happy with this compressor pedal, the build quality it great & it looks fantastic. The led light is a great visual aid too that helps with the functionality. No atmospheric noise and sound quality is great.works exactly as described & I think it's great value for money.I would definitely recommend this product if you are looking for a great sounding compressor pedal at a reasonable price.A*

Very good overdrive and ridiculous value
Love the low noise high quality overdrive sounds out of this pedal. Well made metal case and solid pots. The only problem is the battery bay is too small, so it's very very difficult to get a dead battery back out of the pedal. I had to take the case apart so won't be using it without a PSU again! Other than that, it's highly recommended. Crazy value.

Joyo Avallon compressor
The best compressor I've ever had, including all three of the Boss CS series and a Digitech Main Squeeze. Tweak to find your desired sweet spot. It's silent in operation. The only downside is the on/off status light is very bright. Just stick a bit of paper over it to reduce the glare. I've also disabled the over the top edge lighting using the switch on the base.In conclusion, I leave it on all the time it's so good. Unbeatable at this price.

A great high gain pedal with a modern character
The Chopper-Z is a fantastic modern high gain pedal with a great set of features that allow it to be used in a range of ways. It might not sound particularly high gain at first if you're used to more traditional metal pedals, but it stays tight and focused where they might become vague, so it always hits hard. It's fantastic for stacking lower gain pedals into at lower gain settings, which helps to keep the noise gate working cleanly. The EQ range makes it work particularly well with extra low tunings and baritones as well. I've also run it as a pre-amp using the power amp output mode, which works great. The jury is out on the effectiveness of the cab sim section, which I find has a slightly nasal and harsh character, so I'd recommend a good IR instead.

Sounds good but with quality shortcomings.
Build quality is positive, a really nice metal case and it feels sturdy. The light bar thing is a bit pointless though, I'm not sure what it's for (each side has status lights anyway).Tonally it's generally good sounding. The clipping options are very subtle and only do anything with the gain set high. The taper on the volume controls is a little weird though - both volume and gain need to be well above half to get unity gain. The downside for me was the same I've had with other Joyo R Series pedals - the footswtches aren't mechanical, they're clearly pressing some sort of contact switch insde the pedal but both sides emit a massive pop when engaged. Oddly, I have the "Hot Witch" fuzz which has almost silent switching so it may be a variable. There was also some sort of annoying static noise in the background when either side was engaged which faded after about a second - almost like a noise gate kicked in. Weird.I did ponder tolerating the faults as the unit was decent sounding, but in the end the niggles were too much to take and it was returned.
