Reader-friendly and very well organized guide
A reader-friendly, very well organized guide for someone interested in Global Englishes. It provides an introductory view of the most relevant matters to this field, while inviting the readers to draw their own conclusions. I genuinely appreciate this book being written AND updated from time to time as it has been through new editions.

A wonderful book
This is a wonderful book, which gives comprehensive information about the historical, linguistic, and sociopolitical developments of English. It motivates the reflection on the role of English in today's world and the impacts of the spread of English on linguistic diversity. Thought-provoking, the book is easy to read, with lively examples of Englishes as used across the world, in different time and space, and via different media. Among different reading materials that I've assigned to my students, this book is most welcome. I'm pleased that my students enjoy reading it and discussing the issues as brought about in it. Thank Professor Jennifer Jenkins for writing this horizon-broadening book.

Invaluable & includes companion website
This is the third edition of what was previously called World Englishes. It's an excellent book for those fairly new to the field, but also for scholars like myself who are familiar with much of the material. This is due in part to the different approach, with Jenkins presenting varying perspectives to encourage readers to form their own opinions, rather than stating her own. The inclusion of a greater focus on Englishes in Asia, and particularly China, is also timely, as are the new readings, especially the contribution from Ying Wang on Chinese ELF users and that by Jenkins and Leung on testing. The companion website by Sonia Moran Panero and Melissa H Yu is also excellent. Highly recommended.
