==Update==Three years later, I still wear this pair of earrings. Once a month I do take them out so I can clean them well, and back in they go. They do benefit from a gentle buffing after three years. My ears did adjust after about 2-3 weeks, and I have had no discomfort at all since. Very happy with this purchase... still!==Original Review Follows==When I remove earrings from my second pair of holes, my ears seem to regenerate faster than kudzu vine. So, I always have studs in my second holes, even when my main earrings spend all their time on a jewelry tree.Wearing studs 24x7 meant that they had to be comfortable enough to ignore, and sturdy enough to not take a walk while I was ignoring them. My last set were great at the first part, but not so great at the second part. Even when I replaced the backings with a tighter pair, I woke up and discovered last week that in my travels I'd lost a stud.I bought screw back earrings out of frustration. The good part is that they look identical to the last pair of 14K white gold post earrings I had. The bad part is that in order to make them sturdy enough to hold a screw thread, the posts are ever so slightly thicker. The holes will adjust, I know, it's just right now, my ears are a tad cranky about it.The backs are tiny, but screw on securely - They don't feel at all like they might spontaneously loosen. Not that I'm above using a tiny drop of Loc-Tite on them, but I'd rather not if possible. I've slept in them for a couple nights now, and find them comfortable, and the backs still secure.

I have double-pierced ears, and I always wear my diamond studs in the top piercing. I wanted a yellow gold earring that could be worn long-term without irritation. These perfectly fit the bill. They are shiny and classic, so they go with everything. I read the reviews of these earrings before purchase, and this is my experience with them: first, I knew that really tiny studs (3mm or less) could slip through my piercing, so I selected 5mm studs. These do not slip through; second, the earrings arrived in perfect condition; third, the screw backs are tiny, really tiny. They do not screw on far enough to compress my earlobe, but they hold the studs on securely. I am extremely allergic to nickel, and these earrings have never irritated my ears.Just a tip from a klutz: if you're near a sink when you're handling the backs, put a tissue over the drain. I dropped the left one on my first attempt, and it was a relief to know it wasn't down the drain. I routinely sleep in these with no problems.

OK, so there's never anything fancy you can say about gold ball studs. They are as basic as basic can be. However, these are top quality, real gold, and the screw backs help avoid that feeling you get when you reach up to scratch your ear in the middle of some random Tuesday meeting only to realize you have lost one. I sleep in them and not only are they super comfortable for me - my pillowcases are satin and no noticeable snagging. For this price grab a pair for all the women (and girls) in your life. They will thank you years down the road.

One of them broke as soon as my daughter tried to put it through her ear, and since I purchased early for Christmas, I can't even return it anymore. Very disappointed, for that price they should have been sturdy.

These are really cute but very small, which is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a dainty earring to maintain a cartilage piercing and keep it from closing, and these fit the bill. They appear to be well made. The backs are a little tricky to get on as they’re very small, but once you get them on they are not going to budge. These are perfect for kids and adults and are super comfortable to sleep in.

I've been having issues with my thirds since I got them pierced. All the standard earrings posts weren't long enough and fitted to snug on my ears which is why I think they've been so irritated. I never anticipated the fact that the lobe would be thicker for my thirds (which I should have thought of it). So that started my search for longer post earrings. I didn't realize how hard it was to find such a thing. I read some reviews on earrings and decided to try these and a different pair out. This pair is amazing. I love the screw on back feature mostly bc it only goes so far and it gives ur ears some room. They don't stick out that much either way at least not that would be noticeable unless someone was inspecting your ears and they shouldn't be lol. Also what's nice the earring back is smooth so no more getting jabbed behind my ear by earring posts. I'm hoping these help as I just received them and put them in today but I think they will with that extra space. Very happy customer :).

These earrings are well made but they have a couple of issues that made me return them. First, the posts are pretty long so when you put the screw backs in they tend to hang from the ear. The screw backs are a good idea but they are really tiny and difficult to put on. My ear lobes are a standard size and the posts are so long and the screw backs to small that the earrings do not fit snuggly. I tried a set of silicone backs and that solved that issue. The other thing is that the earring “balls” are not exactly spherical. They are 6mm tall as described but only about 5mm wide. I kept looking at them and they just seemed small somehow so I measured them and realized they are sort of oblong, not really spherical. This is not a problem if you order a size up, but I did not realize this when I ordered them. So all in all, not a really bad product if you are aware or the drawbacks but for me I just needed ones a bit bigger so I decided to return them. Hope other people have better luck. They seem well made, just with some drawbacks.

I have purchased several versions from other companies and needing to return for issues. Quality is garbage, stem is too short, etc.These are better than most. The screw on backing is small and slightly hard to manage but a back should really not be noticeable.Would purchase again.
