It’s loud! But fixable and perfect past that
Oh boy it is not silent! The little silicone pads they send do some heavy lifting. If you plan on messing with this thing in any sort of meeting, or anywhere people might try to throw things at you for making loud, non-repetitive clicking and clacking noises, install the pads lol. Otherwise? This thing is awesome. It’s not a super flowy movement per say, there’s some extremely satisfying resistance to it. You get all directional movement out of it, allowing something a bit more free form as you move the plates . It’s weighted really nicely and the size is perfect, just about smaller than a key fob, fits in my women’s jeans pockets. The magnets are strong and luckily have remained strong as my stupid hands have landed one of the plates on the floor multiple times already. The pads on the insides of the plate, and the plates themselves are all really high quality with no sharp or uneven edges that you see with some 3D printed fidget toys the metal face plate is also super smooth and doesn’t snag on fabrics or dry hands. Luckily they even include replacement pads for use in the future. I highly recommend this product if you fidget, and have already sent this along with videos to my freak set of a group chat. Everyone was fascinated.

One of thr best fidget slider ever imo
This is a really cool fidget slider, the magnets are nice strong but not so strong that it hurts your hand and its carbon fiber so you can play with it all the time with out your fingers hurting or getting tired. It makes a really nice satisfying clacking sound and has a enjoyable resistance when your using it and it is easily one of my favorite fidget sliders especially at this price it is a steal

Best slider before the silencing pads - now even better!!!
By far my favorite fidget slider (and I have a few), so much so that I bought it twice. The first time was in Nov 2023 before they started offering the silencing pads. I really like the clicking noise but it gets on other people’s nerves so I can’t use it as often as I want.I’ve been searching for a “silent” slider fidget and just got another one about a week ago. It was all metal, which gave it a nice weight, but came with like teflon stickers to put on each piece. These not only add width to the slider, but oddly create some friction so that you have to push really hard to get it to start sliding. Then because of the added width, the magnet strength is reduced, so the pieces fly apart easily. Needless to say, not very satisfying to play with. I find myself constantly coming back to THIS fidget, despite the noise. In my continuing search for a silent slider, I saw this one except now they offer the silencing pads!! Game changer!! The pads go on the outside of the magnets under the faceplates, so there is no effect on magnetism. I still get the same smooth operation and tactile feedback as my original slider from these guys, but not the clicking is super reduced and almost completely silent if I am really careful.AMAZING!!!

Too loud.
Great item, too loud to use in an office setting.

So close to being perfect!
The media could not be loaded. Edit: I ended up returning it. I just couldn’t get past the discomfort of the cutout edges rubbing against my fingers and hand. It made me have to put it down too often which defeats the purpose of having a fidget. Really bummed because other than that, it was exactly what I wanted. This fidget is great in so many ways. It’s a good weight and size, the magnets are strong but not so strong that you can’t slide it easily, and my favorite part is that it comes with little silicone “cushions” that you can add to the inside to make it much quieter! They were super easy to install and there is a very noticeable decrease in noise level compared to before they were added. My one and only issue is the cutouts on the outsides of the slider. I know it’s supposed to be a cool design but the edges of the cutouts are a bit sharp and irritate the skin on my thumb when they rub against it. Kids or adults with tactile sensory issues probably wouldn’t like it very much. Wish it was completely smooth or the cut out edges were rounded. Other than that, it’s a great fidget!

Lots of skill issues in these comments
The media could not be loaded. This slider, more so than any other I've used, requires skill. If you're using it as an ADHD management tool, it can be good or bad depending on your skill.I needed it to help maintain attention while at work, so I needed it to be (nearly) silent. The thing is that if you don't use it correctly, it will NOT be silent. In fact it will be incredibly loud. To prevent that, you first need to open it up with the included screwdriver, per the included instructions, and install rubber dampeners inside each of the 16 magnet compartments. This removes the loud series of at least 16 clicks it normally makes whenever the internal magnets snap against each other, i.e., every time you slide the thing. If you don't follow the instructions to make it silent, this thing is LOUD. Probably louder than any other fidget that I've ever used. After you've installed the dampeners, it's complicated. What the dampeners do not do is remove the snapping noise that happens when the two pieces become detached and then click back together. That noise is still pretty loud, but it is one plastic noise instead of 16 metal noises. But that means for it to truly be silent, you need to learn what moves you can do silently and what moves will make (a little) noise. If you pull the magnets apart, it will always clack when they come back together. So you need to learn to use the thing to avoid that. This is all fabulously engaging from an ADHD standpoint, because it means you need to be precise with how you slide and click and clack it, but this makes it a bit overwhelming at first as you learn how to use it. Also, if you never learn how to use it, I imagine it would be intensely frustrating.I've attached a video showing what this slider will sound like when properly silenced, showing some moves that are safe and also how loud it is when clacked. Hopefully it helps!
