Actually rated for this current
I noticed how heavy this unit is right when I opened it - unlike another one from a different brand, this one seems to be built with high(er) quality components. It was actually able to support a 1000W load (a hairdryer for about 30 seconds, just as a test) unlike the “1000W” unit competitor I bought that instantly shut down.

this inverter does not does not work very well I don't think its pure sine wave
It says it’s 800 watts but barely works at 300 watts. in the questions I ask if it was pure sine wave and answer was yes but there is nothing on it stating it is. I'm very disappointed, Thought it would be perfect size but it’s no where near perfect , The fan runs constantly. I could live with that if it would work at 700 watts, Looks like I wasted my money on this buy. I dropped the review to zero this inverter is junk

I dont think I would risk putting 1600W thru this, or even 800
I got this mainly for charging a laptop in my car. I wanted overhead rather than getting a cheaper 200W inverter, since I do not trust the ratings on these. I dont think I would trust this with an actual 800W load, certainly not 1600W even instantaneously, but for moderate loads it seems pretty good.
