5 Metres of Quality 40 Wide x 10oz Hessian by John Tate

I use this to wrap pant pots (Xmas decorations) and linings for hanging baskets etc!

This fabric arrived very quickly. The quality is excellent and the price very reasonable for the amount. The only thing is, it seems too good for its intended use which is to insulate pots in the garden. I'm sure if I try I can think of some more decorative use for it. It even smells nice! This review is being written almost a year since purchase - although the photos were taken today. I bought this as a neutral backing for the display boards in my classroom. I little unsure at first being a big fan of colour, but I am absolutely sold on it. The hessian backing has lasted a year of several different displays now and it is still looking fresh. Pins stuck in and taken out, border colours changed, and yet the backing has not needed any replenishing. The neutral colours mean anything can be put on it and it looks great. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the fact that hessian comes folded instead of rolled (probably a postage and packaging issue) it just leaves creases that take ages to drop out. The ones in my class are nearly gone after a year but my colleague used some I had and the creases are still so apparent (maybe she didn't pull it as tight?) But still, I wouldn't change a thing, I would buy this again in a heartbeat, no more backing boards woohoo!

I am sure this is great quality but unfortunately for me the oil/petrochemical type smell was overwhelming. I couldn’t use it as the smell made me feel ill.
