So much easier than individual beads!
These worked out perfectly for my Mardi Gras costume this year. I've tried before to hand sew individual rhinestones and it was totally unsuccessful and a complete nightmare. I wouldn't say that sewing these was super easy, but definitely better than anything else. It's very tedious. What i did was attach a piece of fabric to an embroidery hoop, and sew from there. Then I cut out the shapes and glued them to my costume with fabric glue. I love the way it came out. With this project, see photos, I used one entire roll of the 3 colors that i used. Hopefully that will give you a visual of how much you need to buy.
