Self tapping and positive driving through. This screw is excellent and solved a lot of my problem in using other screws.

No pre drilling
I needed to fix triple wall polycarbonate roofing sheets, no problem with a cordless drill with a hexagon drive bit. The sheets are joined with aluminium extrusions into timber bearers and again the drill tip of the screw did the job all in one hit. I did wonder if I might have needed to open up the hole through the aluminium but the screw went straight through. Rubber washer completes the seal.

Corrugated metal sheet roof on a field shelter
Used a lot of these when refitting the roof on a recently acquired field shelter for my horse. Easy to use and seem to be holding the sheets well in place, even when windy.
