This doesn't work. Two devices can't work with this splittet. Impossible

It doesn't work. I wanted to use it so both my work station and laptop have lan internet at the same time.If I only plug in the work station, it works fine. If I then also plug in the laptop, the work station loses connection and the laptop never finds it. If I can only have one thing connected, I don't need a splitter.Amazon suggests I mention "value for money", well I paid money and got no value. Also "WiFi signal" but as far as I can tell, there is no WiFi with this thing. And "easy to install": cables click right in, still doesn't work though.I first thought one of the cables was broken but all three cables work (1 from router into splitter, 1 from splitter to work station and 1 from splitter to laptop)Edit: wired speed through the splitter: 9.2 mbit/s download; 45 mbit/s without the splitter. It's worthless rubbish!!

Great item, seems very robust / well built. I needed to split the signal from my Sunsynk Solar Inverter - three pins one way and two pins the other. This allowed me to effectively connect two cables in to one port.

Scenerios where this item WILL and WILL NOT work:1 Computer connected + 1 laptop connected (both switched on) - DOES NOT WORK1 Computer connected + 1 laptop connected (laptop switched off) - INTERNET WORKS ON COMPUTER1 Computer connected + 1 laptop connected (Computer switched off) - INTERNET WORKS ON LAPTOP1 Computer connected + laptop unplugged but both wires plugged in - DOES NOT WORKSo basically you have to have both devices connected at the same time with one switched off and both RJ45 cables plugged into something. If you only have 1 device connected but both wires are plugged in it will not work. I found this out after I plugged in my pc and then plugged in a second RJ45 but did not have it connected to anything.

This is my fault for not reading this will split your Etherner cable in 2, BUT you will only be able to use one cable at once. If one is in the firestick and the other in the pc one of them is going to have to be shut off or neither will get a connection. Buy a cheap network switch, I've seen a few at £6 and they will give you 4 ports. It's not this sellers fault just could have been stated at the top.

I have a room where I have wired Ethernet delivered direct from my router. About 8 years ago, the primary reason was for the ps4 console as they had bad Wi-Fi connectivity so hardwired was key. The cable was delivered to a powered switch and then passed to ps4, amp, desktop pc and ps5. I have 2 power sockets - the above kit is on a filtered extension lead. Fast forward to now and I need to connect a laptop dock to hardwired Ethernet. The laptop, dock and screens are on a different non surge extension lead. I don’t want to have to power on the ps4, switch, amp, ps5 etc just to deliver Ethernet to my laptop dock. This device allows the inbound Ethernet cable to be split before the switch. So into the single inbound port is the feed from the router and then from one of the outbound ports is the switch and the second outbound is to the new dock. As I never have the ps4 etc on at the same time as the laptop, this device is perfect as I do not need internet access on both devices at the same time. Baselined performance on ps5 and laptop pre and post install with now impact on performance experienced (as should be the case)

I have one ethernet cable into my study and I wanted to "split" it into two so I could plug TWO separate desktop PCs into the same cable. I had no intention of running both at the same time, I just wanted one on at a time and the other would be powered off.I read all the details of this device and also the "most helpful" review which seemed to explain it would do exactly what I wanted. However it just doesn't work. Each time I want to turn on a different PC I have to UNPLUG the cable from this splitter block for the PC I'm turning off, otherwise I get no internet.To be clear, if I have two PCs plugged into this block and one is OFF and the other is ON, I get NO internet. If BOTH are ON I get NO internet. The only way I can get internet is to unplug one of the cables.Total waste of time and money.
