only tested at ten yards, but was able to sight in the red dot at that range perfectly.

Does not work out of the box, tried all ways of inserting batteries. This is a POS

First impression is the nice packaging a small, discreet black box with foam inserts cut to snuggly hold the sight and batteries (would be better if batteries were oriented horizontally instead of vertically though). Second impression is the fine finish of the brass and the weight of sight. Third impression is the top rate machining and threading on this product. All first rate!While the batteries need to be taken out to turn off the laser, that is not a problem for me. I always take batteries out of any device I'm not using regularly. That way there is no chance of them corroding the device.I'm looking forward to using this to verify my sights this summer and sight in a new 12 ga. I'm planning on buying soon.Now I want one of these in 20 ga. to keep tabs on my 20 ga. Rem 870 with rifled barrel and scope that I shoot sabot slugs from (my deer gun). These slugs shoot zero drop at 100 yards typically so this would be a great tool to save time, ammunition, and money setting/checking zero at that distance. So Sojufog, when will you have a 20 ga. version?!?!

Bore Sight 12 Gauge Laser Red Dot BoresighterThis solid brass bore sight arrived with two sets of batteries (three in each set). There were no instructions included. The batteries are shrink wrapped into little stacks of three, which make it convenient to drop the stack into the battery compartment without individual batteries going sideways, or flipping over, or spilling and rolling away, etc. Unfortunately, the plastic shrink wrap blocks the contact with the threaded end cap, preventing the laser from illuminating. I did not want to un-bundle the little stack of batteries.. They are just so handy bundled in a stack! So, I made a little aluminum foil "coin" that drops in on top of the batteries, and contacts the end cap. Voila! Laser on!When batteries are correctly inserted and end cap screwed on, the laser is illuminated. Remove the batteries when not in use.Fits precisely in the chamber of my Mossberg 500 rifled barrel. I am mounting a scope to it. This will definitely speed the process.

The bore sight came nicely package in a jewelry style carboard box with a foam insert. It came with two sets of batteries. I thought my bore sight was defective till I came back on the listing and read the reviews to figure out why it wasn't working. The batteries come three to a stack and they are wrapped in plastic. The plastic has to be taken off and the batteries put in individually. The plastic keeps the battery from coming in contact with the metal and wont get proper grounding to work. The bore sight fits my Benelli 12ga shotgun perfectly and works flawlessly once you figure out the plastic on battery issue. It is a solid well made unit and would recommend it. I think that the company needs to address the plastic covering the batteries in the listing to avoid issues.

This bore sight is solid brass and very heavy duty. It comes with 2 sets of batteries. I tried this in a shotgun I have used for many years and that I know is very accurate. The laser is right on center and very bright - easy to see even in daylight.The batteries came in two sets of 3 and were shrink wrapped which was great and gave me an idea for installation.The batteries always seem to flip when you drop them in so I tend to stack them upside down and then insert the cover over them to get them to seat properly. This time I tried using scotch tape to hold them together like one big battery and it worked great! It keeps them together and stops them from flipping upside down. Overall, great value for the money.

I wasn't mad the sights were junk on my 12 ga., when I bought it at a yard-sale, I planned to rail and scope it no matter what. Pretty much need one of these to dial in a green/red dot unit, certainly will make it much, MUCH easier and quicker to do. I'm taking my Mossberg to a tactical set-up, away from the dual handgrip/alley sweeper configuration, I want/need to get the slugs as tightly grouped as possible - dead on actually; bear slugs can't be off-target. 00 buck at 50 yds., a must also - same-same. This bore sight will definitely let me get things in line without going to the range and keep it there.
