Better than the film
Having seen the film several times I was keen to read this book and find out the real man behind the film. Thoroughly enjoyed the book, what he went through was certainly not as glamorous as the film. I especially liked the question and answers at the end of the book.

Fair play Frank. Even more mental than the film. Highly recommend for a fun read. The review is making me write 20 words so the extra sentence here is obsolete.

Fascinating, but subversive!
I love the film and wasn't expecting any surprises, but this book drew me in. The only trouble is that just like the film, you don't want him to be caught even though he is a crook.

Audacious, read it after you've seen the film
I loved the film and have finally got around to reading the book on which it's based. Frank Abagnale himself says the film uses around 80% of what's in the book, so reading this after seeing the film is, I think, a good way to get a rounded vision of this guy's amazing life story. Yes, he's a con artist but no he doesn't rip off individuals, only banks and institutions who should have had better security (which ironically he now advises them on). He was a young man of incredible intelligence and resourcefulness who took a wrong turn into crime but lived the dream. The things he gets up to here are audacious - he's a pilot, a doctor, a lawyer and all before the age of 21. What the book shows that the film doesn't is the fear that went along with this outrageous lifestyle, as well as that if you're going to get caught for a crime, do so in Sweden, not in France, a particularly harrowing part of the book. Abagnale's story, ghost written by Stan Redding who does a great job, is a caper. It's a funny, fast, astonishing read with a moral at the end. Thoroughly recommended.

Unbelievable, but true
That is what I am left with. Reading the book it becomes more fantastic than real. The escapades the scenarios the situation scare just not credible, nobody could have gotten away with that it has to be fiction. Then you realise it is true it is credible and yes he did get away with it. That is until the final chapter when the world crashes. You can't help liking him unless of course you were on the wrong end of a con. A great book made better by its originality.

Interesting read
Bought for a school English project, based on a true story. Interesting read and didn’t drag it out but in some places it felt rushed.
