THE book of STYLE
This book is for anyone that loves mid century modern design. I gave it to my husband for his birthday and I don’t think one day has gone by that he hasn’t picked it up and flipped through it. It is beautifully made and a wealth of information.

Fascinating history that covers many significant movements in mid century design
I was initially hoping for a book showcasing a lot of furniture, so when I received the book I was not as interested as I thought I would be. However, I started reading the first chapter and kept going. Fascinating how the company took a chance on deviating from the standards of all the other furniture companies, especially during the Depression. Also fascinating learning about the designers who partnered with HM to push the boundaries. I didn't know George Nelson even started making films and articles commenting on social changes (like the wastefulness of planned obsolescence). Not sure this is necessarily a coffee table book as there is quite a lot of fascinating text, including copies of letters or articles written by these icons.

Lovely history of American mid-century modern furniture
Love this book. I would consider it a must have addition for anyone interested in Modernism, Mid-Century Modern or furniture design. I do LOVE the story about the Eames’ doing plywood bending.
