Value with quality
I have only had this radio for a week but I must say I'm impressed by both its construction and capabilities. Everything feels premium and solid and the reception of DAB+ is great. One thing I do not understand is the comments regarding the radio's quick battery drain because I have had no such issue, and anyway all of the DAB portable radios that I have ever owned nearly always require charging at quite frequent intervals, and that even goes for the Sony model that this radio replaces and the Sony was well over £100 when I bought it. However in recent years DAB portables have become slightly less power hungry.* Unbelievably apart from its great value the Roxel easily surpasses the Sony and my other Pure branded radio in every department. Anyway, if most of the time you need to use the radio unplugged from the mains and you want the power from the battery to last longer without using the normal charging intervals, it would be far better if the radio was not left in the standby mode with the clock display showing. Instead, turn off the display by moving the on/off switch at the rear of the unit to its off setting. Doing this virtually cuts all the power being used, (although the radio still remembers all your settings) and then when you want to use it again, switch the rear switch across to the on position. In the Roxel's user manual the sound output for the radio is stated as 10 watts RMS. RMS (Root Mean Square) indicates the maximum continuous sound output wattage delivered within a range of minimum distortion values and therefore is a much more accurate high quality measurement than the normally quoted simple Watts, Peak Watts or Total Music Power etc. that are used by a lot of other manufactures to “big up” their not so clear, short bursts of sound, output figures. This is done so they look good regardless of the sound quality. Because of this it makes the tonal quality coming out of the Vogue radio far clearer and more dynamic than many others I have heard. Overall the Roxel Vogue is certainly one of the most comprehensive featured, great sounding portable radios whatever the make or price point. Let's hope after my glowing review it continues to deliver.*In a report written for the DAB Industry by Intertek in 2022, it gives the consumption figures for portable radios as follows; DAB portable = average 4.68W. FM portable average = 1.97W, lowest = 0.98W. So despite what some other Government figures indicate even the people in the trade know DAB radios use more electricity than FM radios of a similar performance.

Nice radio, but too loud and no usb charging
Looks good and works well.But...1) The quietest level on the volume is too loud to use in bed in the evening.2) The sleep timer is too abrupt. It just cuts, rather than fades.3) The usb socket will only charge when usb is set as the source.

Very pleased with purchase
I thought this item was usb charge but it's a rechargeable battery powered by a power outlet. The usb alongside bluetooth is for connecting a usb stick or Bluetooth from your phone to play Spotify etc through the stereo. The internal rechargeable battery lasts about 8-10 hours. It has a sleep function and also two alarms which I am pleased with. Signal strength is much better in comparison to cheaper dab radios that would cut out. Volume very loud rarely need it & sound quality is good and remote control makes it easy to use with simple enter buttons and and forward and backward buttons to select different modes. When first switched on it will also search all channels available.

Returned as defective. DAB Stations do not scan
Received today and returned today. The first scan seemed ok and it did seem reception was working albeit less strong than other radios such as my Pure radios. However, for some reason, the signal virtually stopped working and rescanning stations resulted in picking up any stations. Tried factory reset and moving radio to other locations and nothing worked.Feels like the quality control is very bad. The radio itself looks like it is constructed really well, the display is nice and big, and the sound is decent, but the DAB receiver is bad.Avoid this. This would be 4/5 star if DAB actually works given the price too

Great little radio
I had previously been using a Lenovo Smart Clock as a radio for my pets when I was out of the house, but recently it kept cutting off (although staying connected to WiFi), so it was relegated.Initially I was looking at something like the Ruark R1S, but decided at £300 the quality was probably not of paramount importance to rabbits! Some research landed on the Roxel. It has a similar appearance but was 5 times cheaper!!Although a bit larger than anticipated, it has a lovely quality display and seemed to pick up a surprising 110+ DAB stations from its "car aerial" antenna. The display has 3 brightness settings and shows station signal strength and unit battery level (although mine will be run off mains).Another nice touch is the EQ settings, as I found it a bit bass heavy initially, but I think this is more a reflection of the difference between this and the Lenovo clock. The remote is a credit card sized affair and operation is very intuitive. I managed to figure most things except setting preset stations without consulting the comprehensive manual. Date and time were set automatically once a DAB signal was locked on to.Really pleased with this purchase. Spookily enough I researched Roxel and found that they are a UK company based in Braintree. This was weird because a mere 5 days ago me and my fiancée made our first ever trip to Braintree to the shopping outlet.Anyway, would really recommend this. I also like the controls on the top as it keeps the front fascia clutter-free as well as looking more funky.

Superb quality radio with a big flaw if you plan to use it in a bathroom
This is a really well priced high-quality Radio, let down for me personally because when it is left in standby mode, it draws from the battery consistently and discharges in one night.I wanted to use the Radio in the bathroom once or twice a day for short periods, this is not possible due to the fact that the battery discharges for reasons that I think could be fixed with the software update, essentially in standby mode there is a really useful clock that is quite bright That clearly draws PowerIf you plan to use this radio plugged in, I would not hesitate to suggest buying it, it’s stylish and well built and sounds great
