Stop searching and just get this one. It's idiot proof and installation is a breeze.
I've had this thermostat for about a month now, and I'm really loving it. It's been a bit of an eye-opener, as I realized that our old thermostat might not have been working properly for a long time. It used to randomly set itself to 85°F, and since it wasn't programmable, I knew it was time for an upgrade to something a bit more modern. So, here's my take on it, with a few pros and cons thrown in for good measure.Pros:Installing this thing was a breeze. The moment I opened the box, there were instructions to download the Sensi app, which turned out to be a game-changer. It guided me through identifying and labeling the wires, making it easy even for someone like me with no electrical experience. The app even lets you snap a picture of your wiring for safekeeping, just in case. The built-in level on the wall attachment is awesome! I'm pretty particular about things being straight, so this feature definitely won me over. The app setup was a walk in the park. I started with a simple daytime and nighttime cycle, but you can get as fancy as you want with features like vacation modes and adjusting the AC remotely. It even helped me sync with my Google Assistant and the Samsung Smart Things app, although I ended up not using the latter (more on that in the cons). The usage report is a handy tool, especially because we had some AC issues last year. It's great to see that our better insulation and updated windows are actually making a difference, even during the scorching Florida heat.I appreciate the flexibility to make tweaks like temperature and humidity offsets and changing the cycle rate. These are small things, but they really make a difference, especially for someone like me who's all about maintaining the perfect humidity level.Cons:Unfortunately, it doesn't play nice with Bixby. I'm not quite sure why, but I guess they assume you'll use Smart Things if you're into Bixby. For me, Google does the trick. The recent usage section could be more informative. It only shows how long the AC ran in a day but not the individual times or durations, which would have been helpful, especially during the hot afternoons. Also, I haven't received a monthly report yet, and I've had the thermostat since mid-June.Occasionally, I had to change settings a couple of times before they stuck, but waiting a few seconds before going back to the settings menu seemed to help.Shortly after getting the thermostat, the AC drain line clogged, leading to inaccurate readings. The app showed the cooling was on for most of the day, even when the AC wasn't running. It's not a major issue, but it does affect the accuracy of your data.In a Nutshell:Overall, this thermostat has been a game-changer for me. It was a breeze to install and set up, and it works like a charm. It would have been perfect if it could connect to Bixby without involving Smart Things and provided more detailed daily usage reports. I usually keep our house at 78°F during the day and 77°F at night, and now it actually feels cool, unlike before. I'm really pleased with this purchase.

Very Impressed
Well folks I must say that I am very impressed with my new Sensi Thermostats. Before purchasing I searched for the best fit/option that required very little to no modifications or adding jumpers or addition wires during installation.Brief Background: 21-year-old home, 2 thermostats, old thermostat failed - replacement required, Prime shipment (blah, blah, blah).1st unit took over 45mins because I tried to install it from memory.2nd unit installation took less than 20 mins (correct tools and followed the detailed instructions from the Sensi).Quick and Easy Install & Program Setup:1. TURN POWER OFF to HVAC system before removing the old thermostat (Risk of shortening the HVAC control board)2. Unpackage the 2 piece unit, keep the Welcome pamphlet handy for wifi setup3. Download the SENSI app to your phone or tablet4. FOLLOW the installation instructions from the app, step by step (it will save you time) - I must say that the installation guide from the app is as simple as it gets (Scale 1-5, 1 being Easy, 5 being Hard, this install is a "1")Tools:A. Jewelers Philips head or Flathead screwdriver(s), used to terminate wiring to Sensi wiring terminal strip.B. Standard Philips Head & Flathead Screwdriver(s), used to disassemble the old thermostat and install the Sensi thermostatC. Optional - Wire Strippers, used to cut and strip wiringWIFI:Some of the reviews speak of issues connecting or dropping connection, I too had initial connection issues but after a couple of connected and failed attempts, reviewing a couple of pointless videos and brief online troubleshooting, the following should be your resolve (SIMPLE):1. Follow wifi connection instructions2. Once setup & connected, your unit may drop the connection3. Pull the faceplate off, remove batteries for 5 mins4. Insert batteries (Face Plate still disconnect from wall unit), wait 2 to 5 mins and the wifi will reconnect - Day 3 no connection issuesAlexa - I have not configured Alexa at this time, I will update this post once my units are configured...Update: 5/18/2021* Thermostats are now connected to the Alexa app and working flawlessly* WiFi connection - No issues since the last post* Battery Life - No issues since the last post

Installation for 2 wire heat only works great!
I'll update my review after I've got it installed but 2 wire installation took a bit of research to figure out.Using a plug in transformer to add a c-wire the installation is:- rh to rh- w to w/eOn the 2 wire "c-wire adapter", any wire to C and the other to RC.*CUT THE JUMPER FOR RH/RC ON THE SENSI!*Turn breaker on and plug in transformer. On the app during install, select RH, W and C as your wires. Ignore/deselect RC to avoid confusion.Edit: Pictures attached, install went great! Initially I had forgotten my own instructions and left the RH/RC jumper uncut on the back. It worked seemingly fine but I cut it anyway. There shouldn't be two sources of voltage (rh and rc) linked together like that when you have wires in both like I do.I only have the heat option which is exactly what I wanted. It linked to Google Home effortlessly.10/10.

Replaced google nest thermostat
Switched from google nest thermostat and wow what a change in electric consumption in our house. We were avg 78-85kwg a day with google nest, since replacing we’ve been down to 48-52 a day. Not sure why the smart thermostat nest was causing the fan and inconsistent temperatures in the house but this one seems to work great! Sensi app is easy to use
