Took a chance, and it paid off!
Years ago, I purchased a papasan chair from Pier 1, which has since gone out of business. The chair had separate pieces - - the stand, bowl, and of course, a cushion. Though the stand and bowl were not attached in any way, I never had any problem with the bowl moving or slipping while I was sitting down into the chair, getting up out of it, or moving around once in it (and I say "in" it, rather than "on" it, because, being a smaller human being, I am normally fairly cocooned in any chair this size and shape).I only recently needed to replace the chair, so I looked for similar styles to the one I'd purchased at the now defunct Pier 1. I tried a chair from a popular chain similar to that one, and while the bowl and stand were beautiful, and the cushion soft and gorgeous, the slippage was ludicrous! The moment I sat down in the chair, the bowl slid lavishly until I was inevitably and invariably left in a completely prone position, staring at the ceiling.Thinking it must be a fluke (the Pier 1 model never did this, for heaven's sake!), I tried a similar papasan from yet another popular home decor and furnishings retail store, and this time had to drive 45 miles to the location that actually had the chair in stock. Again - - beautiful chair. And again - - whoosh!! I'm staring at the ceiling.P.S. (Yes, of course I tried the floor model of the chair in each of these stores before purchasing, and I don't know what kind of voodoo they used, but the floor models don't slip...and when you receive the chair you've purchased, it's generously wrapped in flexible, protective cardboard pieces, so doesn't slip...that is, until you get it home and remove the cardboard.)I'd looked at several well-reviewed papasan chairs at Amazon, but had resisted purchasing one online (even with Amazon's excellent returns policies), because what a pain in the butt to repackage and ship back something that large! And without a brick and mortar where I could go try it out first, how to gauge how comfortable it would be? Sure, there are the reviews, but everyone's preferences and builds are different.I did a ton of research, comparing, reading, thinking...and finally landed on this chair. I'd read the minor complaint from one reviewer that the angle of the bowl can't be changed, and that gave me slight pause, but the angle (at least from the pictures) appeared to be about where I'd always placed the bowl of my papasan chair. Also, the frame wasn't the color I wanted (most of my furniture is a light, natural-toned wood), and another reviewer had mentioned that the cushion was a bit rough or scratchy.None the less, the reviews (and my gut instinct) about the chair were so overwhelmingly positive that I decided to give it a try, and am I ever glad I did!The angle of the bowl is perfect for sitting up and reading or for taking a nap. The cushion, yes, is not microsuede like so many are, but is by no means scratchy or rough, and is very nicely thick and plush. The swivel feature is a bonus I didn't know I wanted or needed, but now I'll probably never want another papasan without that feature, and the chair was reasonably easy to assemble by myself (again, as a smaller than average human in her late 50's).Again, everyone's different - - but I am 100% pleased with this chair (for comfort, aesthetics, and value for the price), and grateful for the other reviews that prompted me to buy it.

Well worth the money!!
Just what I was looking for! I wanted something smaller than the typical papasan chair to fit my space while still being comfy to sit on, and it was perfect! It also swivels side to side 360 degrees. Does not adjust/recline back if that is what your looking for. The cushion was softer and thicker than my previous papasan chair as well!

Its fine
It’s very nice but after a while of use I realized the balls in the beating started to fall out. I love the color and it feels very stable though.

Best Chair in the House!
We purchased this for my daughter’s bedroom. It was very easy to put together. It is SO comfortable. I go in her room just to chill in the chair sometimes.
