The extra leverage from the design is brilliant, and quality of them is great. Glad to replace the cheap nasty ones i bought years ago with something rhat makes day to day diy a pleasure. Toby woo

Very well made. Compound lever system gives very powerful grip. Can be a little stiff. Needed oil to loosen them a bit.

Excellent design only let down by the poor final testing as all 4 of mine didn’t fully open unless severely forced repeatedly. After some general use they now seem fine. Just obviously need some quality control before final packaging as it seems cheaper version worked better straight out the packaging. I can understand 1 being a bit defective but all 4 that I bought were much the same. Once over this small annoyance these are not bad if a little heavy and expensive. Overkill for most jobs but a upgrade from the majority

Pros- well made strong plier set, look goodCons- size too big in hand sometimes, due to the extra leverage mechanism the jaws don’t open as far as I would like them too sometimes, noticed the exposed steel on the pliers were beginning to show small signs of corrosion after a couple of months use and they are stored in a tool chest with other hand tools (quick rub with wd40 keeps it at bay)Overall- large size handy plier set with extra strong grip when needed

Paid £31, which after searching turned out the best price for a compound set, at this level.For my needs for DIY they are fine, my hands aren't as strong as they use to be so these really come in handy if i need extra hold or cutting thicker wire ect ect, and that's exactly why i bought them, they are a little stiff at first, and the finish could be better, but they work just fine.So it's 5/5 as i really can't knock them.**Note to Stan > not a gripe but! Yes i would pay a little extra if the finish was better!**

Well made and a great set of tools which I use regularly and hold up well.

Got these at £30, and they're excellent. I rate Stanley's FatMax stuff highly, and these fit in with the rest of that line. The compound action makes a massive difference, and they get certain jobs done so much more easily than regular pliers - my 4 year old loves helping out at the DIY and using these he can pull out carpet staples that would be a hassle for me with regular pliers.For anyone with grip problems, I'd definitely consider these.
