eGear Guardian Dual Function Signal Light (Red)

Had two of these for a few weeks now. They are strong and well put together. My Labradors have been out in heavy rain and severe conditions. The light remains water proof. I am buying replacement batters however, they have faded. I suspect they have not been supplied with the best quality battery. Replacements are not expensive. The turning of the dome, to turn on and off, is very hard. I have added a little bit of lubricant.

Wow, what a great little light! Super bright at direct line of sight so do not look at it straight on. The belt clip attaches very solidly and definitely won't budge unless you are deliberately detaching it. The plastic is a very solid type, not cheap stuff. The light is smaller than what I thought it would be but it's light is mighty. To change modes you just simply reverse the polarity on the batteries. The light reflector unscrews and has a 'O' ring seal, should definitely be waterproof (haven't tested yet) but certainly with the quality of the plastic threading and the 'O' ring it is weatherproof. I have this now attached onto my cycling bag and can't wait to get out on the road. You definitely need something reflective or a bright light to be seen if you get off your bike. It's all good getting lights for the bike itself, but if you have to dismount then this will help you be seen.

BOUGHT THIS LIGHT AFTER HAVING READ ALL COMMENTS ON IT BY OTHERS.AS IT CAME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IN THEIR REVIEWS , I D3CIDED TO TAKE A CHANCE.I LIVE ON AN ISLAND AND HAVE TO WALK MY DOG LAST THING AT NIGHT. THE DOG LIKES NOTHING BETTER THAN TO RUN ONTO THE SHORE AND SHE DISAPPEARS AMONGST THE SEAWEED AND IS NIGH ON IMPOSSBLE TO SPOT....THANKS TO THIS LIGHT , WHICH I CLIP ONTO HER WATERPROOF COAT , I CAN WATCH HER EVERY MOVE , EVEN AT A DISTANCE . THE LIGHT THROWS OFF A STRONG AURA AROUND ITS DOME , EVEN WHEN IN FLASHING MODE , AND HAS MADE MY LIFE MUCH EASIER , AND , I FEEL SAFER FOR BOTH OF US . SEVERAL OTHER DOG WALKERS HAVE ASKED FOR INFO ON IT AND I'VE BEEN HAPPY TO OBLIGE .GREAT BUY .

Purchased these items before in a white light and wanted a distinguishing second colour to identify one of my dogs from the other at night.Strong, waterproof, easy to clip onto a harness, and, if my original white ones are anything to go by, currently working well after a year, they will prove to be a low cost investment.Highly recommended !

Bought to fix to dogs harness to spot on night rambles.Well constructed, but not as bright as I hoped. I have a rear bike light that is brighter than this.

I bought 2 of these (1 red & 1 white) nearly 2 years ago & they are still going strong even after being put through my washing machine! They are invaluable for keeping my dogs in view when it gets dark, they're completely water proof & clip safely to their collars. I am just ordering another for my friend.

Defra insist on people responding to certain emergencies to be ID'd by coloured lights etc. I see these get a lot of use, in rough conditions, knocked about, regularly submerged and generally abused. They can be a fiddle to operate in gloves, but this also means they're near imposable to deactivate accidentally.

I'm using two of these for kayaking (one white, one red) in sea water and they are proving very effective for allowing boats to see me, very bright and long lasting and the salt water seems to have no effect upon them.Instead of using the clips I've threaded some webbing through the holes on the edges which allows the lights to stay put even when I'm sliding against rocks, the lights themselves are proving very tough and only a few scratches have appeared, which considering the abuse they've taken is far less than i would expect.Only downside is I often dazzle myself!
