Everbuild Black Jack 908 D.P.M (Damp Proof Membrane) – Black – 5 Litre

I've just had to build a retaining wall in my garden and used concrete hollow blocks for the main support and then faced with brick and flint for aesthetics. And, as I didn't want damp bleeding through I needed to waterproof the wall and arrived at this.I actually ended up with this through a builder who is a mate of mine. He (and I guess most other builders) just call this kind of waterproofing 'black jack' in the same way a vacuum cleaner is a hoover.And there is a good reason builders use this. It's works and is cheaper than other brands. And from what I can see is the same stuff.It is a viscous paint that will stick to just about anything and dries to form a thick waterproof skin idea for irregular surfaces. Perfect for the likes of my retaining wall.You will need gloves (or an epic amount of hand cleaner) old clothes and a load of brushes which, you will dump when finished. No point in trying to clean them.So far my wall has proven to be damp free so this stuff works. Why pay more?

The paint arrived a couple of days after the given arrival date but it wasn't too bad. It was really well packed, sealed, bagged, boxed. Have used the first test tin and have just ordered 2 more. It goes on easy and dries in the 4 hours stated. It does have a little odour to it when applying but I wore a mask and left the door open. As other reviews, be careful what you get it on, it isn't coming off and it'll stick everything together. I wrapped the brush in clingfilm overnight and it was good enough to use again the next day. When dry it has a rubbery texture to it. Just need some rain to test it now

The company has sent this tin of black jack securely packed....they have put tape around it on the lid so that it doesn't leak...make sure you have a few brushes as its very thick....and just throw them away...afterwards... so dont use expensive brushes when using Black Jack...yes its thick and sticks, its does what it states...

It actually says this in the small print on the tin so the description is a little misleading.
