Worked great first try. Varnish is about the consistency of most citadel paints out of the bottle, so requires thinner to go through the airbrush in my opinion. I used about a 50/50 mix. At first was very careful to put it on slowly. Got a shiny finish but never saw the varnish itself. Model just got shinier and didn't see any orange peel texture. Later put on thicker in a few places. Could see the white fluid pooling in the recesses. Dried clear and did not obscure the details so seems this works too. Also used a brush to really slab it on thick over some spot light glass on the model and it made a great shiny glass look with no air bubbles or clouding. I like my paint job too much to really stress test the finish, but so far the metal model (metal is notorious for chipping if not properly varnished) has held up under normal table top play without any noticable wear.

It works very well just makes sure u allow 24 hours to pass between each coat. Yes it takes longer but if u try to rush it, it will stay forever tacky even after its dried for a few days. Trust me. Take ur time and apply only 1 thin coat ever 24 to 30 hours til ur saitisfied

Very happy with this product. Have used vallejo varnishes before but this one has been the best for me. Other vallejo varnishes have claimed to be airbrush ready but have always required thinning for my purposes. This varnish required zero thinning.
