Awesome zapper
Great zapper, is small and full of power, I bought it as recently there’s a lot of fruit flies flying around as summer is around the corner and man as soon as I plugged it started working

Don't waste your money.
I've been having a gnat problem indoors that I am trying to eliminate. I purchased this zapper because it was supposed to be usable both indoors and outdoors, and great for gnats. The first problem is that the manual only specifies outdoor use, and all throughout the manual it alludes to the fact that this is a serious fire hazard that shouldn't be used indoors.Part of what is listed as being a fire hazard is the cord. It says in the manual, "To reduce the risk of fire or injury, only plug into a properly installed outlet," alluding to the idea that it isn't safe to plug into an extension cord. If they didn't want it plugged into an extension cord, then they shouldn't have made the cord a whopping six inches long. The cord is so short, and so rigid, in fact, that I tried plugging it in and sat it on the counter where the plug is directly in line with the cord, and the cord won't flex and is apparently heavier than the lamp because it makes it immediately want to topple over. You pretty much have to hang the lamp to be able to use it, which makes it even more of an eye-sore than it already is in your house. Additionally, they provide a chain to hang the device with, but don't provide an eyelet or any similar hardware to even hang it. Not to mention, if you do hang it, you are back in the same boat of not having enough cord to do anything with. The chain is significantly longer than the cord, and how many people do you know that have a "properly installed outlet" on their ceiling. The part that irritates me the most is that the thing doesn't even work. I placed it in an area swarming with gnats, and immediately I watched them start flocking to the light. I expected the zapper to start killing them, but nope. They fly right through it. I watched them bump right into the metal grating on the inside that is supposed to provide the shock and just keep flying. I thought, "Well surely it's doing something and I'm just not seeing it." I waited several hours and then checked the collection tray to see if it was doing literally ANYTHING, but there was not a single bug in the collection tray. These are gnats and it can't even kill those. If you are intending to buy this for mosquitoes, you'd be better off to find something else before the mosquitoes laugh you out of the barbecue.I, being the gullible idiot that I am, bought two of these things thinking I could put them on both ends of the house. Now I'm stuck here with two fire hazards that literally wouldn't harm a fly.

good quality only thing is
the cord is only a foot long so it is good for hanging or set very close to an outlet. works very well though , it was purchased for our RV and did its job!

Looks Great, But Didn’t Deliver on Performance
I was drawn to this bug zapper electric lantern because of its sleek design and the promise of keeping my outdoor space mosquito-free. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Despite running it nightly, I noticed little to no reduction in the mosquito population around my patio. The device seemed to attract more moths than mosquitoes, which wasn’t helpful. I followed all the setup instructions carefully, ensuring it was placed in an optimal location, but the results were disappointing. On the positive side, the lantern is well-constructed and adds a nice aesthetic touch to the yard. Decided to return it. It’s a decent-looking product, but if you’re specifically aiming to reduce mosquitoes, this might not be the most effective solution.

Bad Quality, Poor Design, Breaks, Didn't Work To Begin With
I've gone through countless bug zappers trying to find one that will work in a sustained manner. This one is terrible. It's designed with the assumption that you'll use an extension cord, as its own cord is about 1 ft at most. Combined with an ovular base and being very light, that means it topples all the time if you don't want it on its chain; and if you do, the extension cord is ugly af having to have the plug hang right below it, and it hangs askew because it's too light compared to the plug. The bug catcher bottom broke immediately, it won't go back on. I didn't force it or anything, it just was made of such cheap plastic it doesn't seem to lock back in place. All of those downsides would maybe still be worth it if it worked at all. The bug zapper I'm replacing because it didn't work very well is catching more bugs than this new one which maybe caught one...and I think that's because it just crawled in there to die because it was warm from the bulb. What a waste of money and space. I had gone with a name brand hoping it would work, but it looks like it's back to the 2 month old brands with lots of z's and w's in their name.
