Q: does this have a gloss or matt finish?

Neither! - Its a water seal, it soaks in and water proofs the wall or what ever. After a couple of months you can't even tell except rain rolls of it!. I did mine a couple of years ago and still happy with it, rain no longer soaks right through the brick wall in to my garage.

Q: When applied does the surface give the appearance that it is wet (i.e. darker/ as if is had be rained on)

Yes you can see the liquid while applying but then it dried and soaked in so it didn’t look any different to the rest. I did the lower half of a brick wall and both sections look the same until it rained. The lower section you could see the water sitting on the surface and rolling off.

Q: Can this be used on terracotta type roof tiles.

If they are pores then I imagine it will be fine, It will not seal around loose or damaged tiles though! Really a question for Thompsons?

Q: Can it be used on garden terracotta pots to be used as water features (ie, always filled with water)? How long might is last? Thanks

I’ve only painted it on concrete ornaments that are in the garden I do it once a year
