Gentle, quiet, but 100% effective way to wake up
Very happy with this clock. I'm hearing impaired and frequently missed my regular wake up call before. This clock definitely wakes you up via gentle shaking under the pillow while making close to zero noise. I don't want a clock that is so loud that it gives you a heart attack. With this clock, other people in the room won't be woken up, but there is no way that you'll miss wake up time. The shaker is sturdy and the clock very easy to program and use (I didn't need to use the manual and just figured it out as it is intuitive.).Two main areas of improvement: I'd prefer if the clock would work with batteries and not require a power cord, as I don't have an outlet near my bed and have to dangle it across the room. The battery compartment in the back is misleading. Secondly, it should definitely have 24-hour display. The 12-hour display makes it look cheap. It might work for the U.S., but almost everywhere else people are used to 24 hour dials, so there is no confusion what the clock is showing. I missed my wake up call once because I accidentally programmed it for 6 pm instead of 6 am, which is very easy to miss.

Durable and effective
Had this for a couple of years now and have always found it wakes me up great. If I'm really worried I might not wake up in time I'll put the vibrating pad in the draw of my bedside table which makes an incredibly loud jarring noise on top of the alarm; I also put the noise on the highest pitch setting.I'm not exactly super careful with my things and this clock fallen on the floor at least 3 times a week for the past few years and it works like new just with a couple of scratches and bumps. It's not the prettiest clock in the world and whilst it feels pretty cheap to hold I would say this is very good quality and durable.

A*** fantastic
I have not slept through this alarm. Anyone, like me, who sleeps through the loudest of alarms and then has to face the humiliation of turning up to work super late or having to re-arrange appointments, i highly recommend this little gem. The loud alarm together with the super vibration (yes it will wake your partner, possibly even neighbors) has so far (touch wood, fingers crossed) worked for me. Don't get me wrong i have been the odd 5 mins late due to having a snooze function and there is a possibility i could sleep through the buzzer (yes....I am THAT bad) but the combination as i said of alarm and vibration are fantastic. I am harping on but i have spent an absolute fortune on alarms over the years and this is way way better than the odd very loud alarm i have manage to get wake me 95% of the time. Who ever invented this clock THANK YOU so much!

Brilliant. Bought this to wake me up without waking ...
Brilliant. Bought this to wake me up without waking up the house (ie in vibrate-only mode). It works. The vibration is super strong and doesn't make enough noise to wake the missus (although we sleep in seperate beds in the same room. Same bed might be a different matter). Never tried the buzzer. The super-bright flashing LED can't be turned off as far as I can tell, which is one drawback, but the clock itself is down the side of the bed so it's fine. Only other critism is that the switch to choose between off/buzzer/buzzer&vibrate/vibrateonly is very small and fiddly and doesn't have a clear pointer on it, so you have to be really careful which one it's set to!!!!! Buttons (eg snooze) are very clicky which is good (you know you've pressed them) but click quite loud at 0530am (again not enough to wake anyone else up though). Overall a good purchase. Nice quality.

It does exactly what it says on the Tin
My hearing has been declining but have always heard my mobile alarm, but i now had a full time job and have to be self reliant on my own, this alarm clock is cool, option of buzzer and vibrate if one self, or just vibrate if has to be quiet in a household.Price is good too

will wake the dead.
This clock is brilliant. It is loud enough to wake me up and the vibrating attachment is very powerful. It takes a little time to get used to it, especially the vibrating attachment. If you are hard of hearing I recommend this alarm clock. I just wish I didn't need it. It does a good job of waking me up. If it could make me a cup of tea when it wakes me up I would be over the moon. I wish I had know about it sooner. Very happy indeed.

VERY LOUD! BUT POOR QUALITY!
The media could not be loaded. I have gone through 3 of these clocks in the space of 2 years. They just do not last. The minute I unwrapped it I could tell and feel that it was very cheaply made. However the clock does the job! Its the loudest I've used to date and I'm a very heavy sleeper, so it works well for me. I would recommend purchasing the extended warranty to cover yourself past the one year warranty.

Very loud, you might not need full volume
Dunno why this review asked for scores on thickness and sheerness for an alarm clock but this thing is great, I use it at half volume and that's loud enough, the vibrating pad is really good and that's woke me up with no sound on. I'm not really hard of hearing but I am a deep sleeper, I can see this working for most people.
