I'm giving this 5 stars as it's such a great value item
I'm giving this 5 stars as it's such a great value item. I got it for £32 with free delivery and for that price it's an absolutely excellent item. As other reviewers suggest it is quite difficult to put together and you really do need to sort the screws, bolts, etc out first and keep them in a clear order as you work, even though that requires going through the whole book as there is no index of these parts at the beginning of the instructions. The instructions could also do with being a bit more detailed as small omissions such as the direction to put in a nut and bolt can mean having to re-do some sections. Lastly, if possible, use a proper, long-handled, allen key and spanner, I can't imagine how frustrating it would have been to assemble using the provided tools. But all that aside, once it's assembled it's well worth the money. My 21 month old loves it and should get several years of enjoyment out of it. The slide actually looks much bigger in real life than it does in the above photograph. The chute is 6ft long and compared to similarly priced toddler slides, this is just so much more enjoyable and we will get much more mileage from it.

slide good value and sturdy only 2 steps not 3 as pic shows though
was a bit tricky to put together took 2 hours but once up found it to be very strong sturdy and no sharp bits anywhere . the picture shown shows 3 steps but it actually only has 2 steps maybe a pic of the larger slide which is what i was expecting . my son is 2 and can easly climb the slide and go down it all unaided which was a bonus as he does not have to rely on us to put him on which he thinks is great all we have to do is stand by and supervise . would def recommend this slide for its sturdyness and durability overall brilliant slide and good value Hedstrom Wavy Slide

Assembled it is very sturdy, good quality and reasonable value for the cost
My daughter is two and loves the slide. Assembled it is very sturdy, good quality and reasonable value for the cost.I have to agree with other reviews however that the assembly is less than straight forward. The instructions are not very clear and rely almost entirely on pictures, the screws are very similiar in size and the instructions do not clearly state the screws for each section. Several times I had to unattach sections and repeat with different screws. Great end product but be prepared for some assembly annoyance. With better instructions this would have been a 5 out of 5

Line up the bolts first!
The slide is great but assembly is tricky as others have mentioned. I recommend getting all the bolts and sorting them before you do anything else. You should have:17mm x 5 (for use in Step 2 F1 / Step 3 F1 / Step 4 F1)20mm x 6 (for use in Step 1 F1a)25mm x 1 (for use in Step 4 F4)30mm x 1 (for use in Step 4 F5)35mm x 8 (for use in Step 2 F3)35mm (Round Head) x 5 (2 for use in Step 5 F6 / 3 for use in Step 6 F6)38mm x 4 (for use in Step 5 F7)60mm x 2 (for use in Step 7 F9)63mm x 4 (for use in Step 6 F8)66mm x 2 (for use in Step 3 F2)I ended up measuring them individually to make sure. Also as there is a lot of alan key work I sawed off the long part of the alan key and put it in my electric drill. Combined with a wrench this sped things up a lot.

Extremely difficult to set up
I bought this a few days ago for my nephew (4 years old) and by looking at the picture, it seemed like it was easy to put its pieces together. HOW WRONG COULD I HAVE BEEN.It took me and my mother (two females, 20 and 50 years) around 5-6 hours to try and figure out how to put its pieces together and to set it up, however, the instructions were very unclear so we had to guess what to do. At the end, it just looked like it wasn't right so i gave up on setting it up. Then my mother called a some technician/mechanician who came and worked on it for two hours to fix it. (he had to open all the pieces and start from the beginning)All Im saying is that, if you are not some kind of a mechanical engineer or a strong guy who likes being challenged and fixing things and you like your products to be easily served then don't buy this, it is very hard to set up.I have to admit though, if you put the pieces strongly together (so its safe for children to use) its a very nice slide and children will love it. Also its kind of long and wavy so Im sure my baby nephew will love it (I still dont think it was worth working on it soo hard, but then Im a girl and not much strong and this slide needed some kind of body builder to work on it)

Took me single handed 4 hours!
So I started at 7:30pm and finished at 11:30pm! I first sorted the screws which took an hour, some were so tricky as the 17mm seemed like the 20mm that was like a mathematical puzzle in itself! Then the assemble, the tools are shocking! I used the alan key and grips in the end! Today my hands are shredded to bit! This doesn’t have to be a 2 person job but it is very tricky trying to move and attach bits so take time! Today it feels wobbly still so I’m going to ask a family member to try and tighten, as to be honest I’ve lost the will to live with the screws and bolts! Who knew a slide would cause so much ag. It has a lot of bolts and screws that I’m worried will always come loose so beware! Not worth £100 I have paid!!
