ColemanC300/C500 Performance Screw On Gas Cartridge, for Camping Stoves, Compact and Resealable Canister

Very impressive

First off, this is not a standard size canister when compared to other brands. The 220/230g canisters are usually much wider than this, this one measures around 9cm diameter compared to over 10cm for the 'standard' size. However, it is much taller and contains 240g of gas. This might be a good thing, this might fit into a jetboil system, I don't have one, but it fits into the same pot I normally store my 100g can in.Others have noted that the valve mechanism seems to be 'deeper' than other brands, meaning that some stoves will not work. My Firemaple 116T will screw on, but no gas comes out, but this is a problem with the firemaple, as my SOTO, BRS and cheap Chinese ebay stove all work fine with this can. You might have to be careful about trying a new brand of gas before you get 20 miles out from civilization, but I think coleman might have sorted the compatibility issues?I like this for the narrow shape and size, so happy days!

Basics: you can't argue with the price and it burns. It will work with any stove that takes EN417 cartridges (the domed, screw in types), not just Coleman stoves. This is a standard 3 season mix, perfect for the vast majority of users.If you're a winter camper or fisherman (or anywhere you're likely to use it below 0°C) they have an 'Extreme' mixture with more propane in it that works down to silly temperatures, you may want to check that out for total peace of mind. If you're climbing to proper altitudes (well above the 1300m top of the UK) then look at more specialist mixes.Weird one here - the Coleman cans are not the standard dimensions of other manufacturers' EN417 cans. They're slightly taller and narrower for the same capacity. This means they fit perfectly in my Lixada 750ml titanium cookpot where a standard cannister won't. It also means they don't fit in my Firemaple X2 (a really rather good Jetboil type stove designed to self contain all its bits and a 230g cannister). This is only a positive or negative if you specifically want the cannister to do either, but it's good to know. The pictures above hopefully show this.

A quality item.The smaller cartridge is ideal for use when camping, as it is lighter and smaller.Combine any of these Coleman gas cartridges with the appropriate stove that screws in to the top, and you have a highly efficient, economical and versatile cooking system.These cartridges last and last and last. A great buy!

Very reliable gas for my Trangia stove. I always stick to Coleman now. We camp out in all weathers. Sometimes in the woods, other times near the sea. We are kayakers that love camping. So finding gas that works even in extreme cold is a must for us. And this is the smaller bottle out of the two sizes Coleman produce. So fits easily in a dry bag in my kayak. And you can always give the bottle a shake when it's coming to the end to squeeze more out. Thoroughly recommend. Great value for money too. And quick delivery from Amazon as always. No problems with cross threading either when screwing and unscrewing the bottle, even with cold clumsy hands.

Used this for 3 different camping trips this summer and not only is it very easy to use, but its long lasting. I have used it for lots of cups of tea and coffee, as well as the odd bit of cooking, yet the canister is still approx. Half full. Will get me through next year's camping trips and will then need a new one. Screws on to my stove, it's lightweight and I will definitely buy again once it runs out.
