Q: Can't take large screws out of collar to replace straps the screws keep turning but won't come out. Has anyone experienced this problem.

the screws go through the reciever and thread into the other side of the strap, you could cut away part of the strap with cutting pliers and pull out the screw.

Q: Will this work for pet safe model 1000?

It depends on how the actual shock box is made. Look at your strap to determine how it is attached to the shock box and you will be able to determine the type of replacement strap needed.

Q: How do I get a black replacement collar instead of blue?

I had the same trouble when I wanted to get a blue collar, if you put in you are searching for a black replacement collar, it should pop up.

At least there was a replacement

When I bought the dog collar including the receiver I was happy with it. Then or a few months the collar ripped. I couldn't find a replacement part through the company. Then I found this replacement collar and it was very inexpensive. So far it's worked out well. It seems better quality than the color that came with it
