Works great with my M1 MacBook Pro but wish the cord was detachable
There are so many docks on the market but very few seems to have the features that are important to me. I must have 4K 60Hz HDMI support (so many are only 30Hz), 1GB ethernet, and 100W PD charging and a couple USB data ports. This dock exceeds all those wants perfectly without the extra fluff that I don't need. So many other docks compromise on HDMI or other ports just to advertise they have 16 ports, but the quality is more useful than the quantity. It's compact in size and very light weight. My only complaint is that I don't like docks that have a fixed cable attached to them since it can get damaged or it tends to be too short. The attached cable in only about 10" long and may limit your options depending on your desk setup. I would prefer if it included just the female USB-C port and a 3 foot cable. It does NOT include a power adapter as you are expected to use the one included with your laptop. This is fine with me as I would much rather trust an original Apple power adapter over some cheap brick to power my expensive computer. The HDMI support has been solid with my BenQ 4K monitor and my ethernet speeds match that of my old reliable Apple thunderbolt to ethernet adapter. It charges my Macbook just fine and has proven to be stable for the several days of working from home I've used it for. The case is made from plastic but it does have vented holes on the back to prevent overheating. It's not the most solid feeling dock I own but again it's very compact and light so if you travel with it, you'll appreciate that. If you're looking for a small dock and just need these included ports, then you'll likely find this one perfect for you.

Quality Hub
After having an unfortunate experience with a generic USB-C hub and their infamous PAUSE frames that can knock down an ethernet network (Search it, there are plenty of technical articles about the issue) I wanted to avoid a repeat, and since most portable USB-C hubs have this issue (Including an older model from Satechi) this caught my eye because it uses a newer Ethernet interface that is rated for 2.5G. I'm happy to say that I did not experience these issues with this hub. This hub is one of the few that are rated for USB4, and so far everything I used it with has been great.Design-wise, it plays the part: There is a metal frame around the side. The bottom is black plastic with vents. The top is black with an indentation that gives it a subtle flare, with the logo on it. There is a dim blue light next to the HDMI port to indicate it’s powered on, but besides that no flashy lights, which I prefer. All the ports are on one side, except the Ethernet that is on the front bezel.Ports, in order:Ethernet: It's a VIA Ethernet controller 2.5G running on an USB 3.1 5GB/s internal connection. It's plug & play (no drivers needed). My desktop switch is gigabit but the computer does recognize it as a 2.5Gb Ethernet.Audio port:It's audio out and mic in (So it works with EarPods or similar). What I find very useful is that the audio port does not show up as USB audio until something is plugged in, so the computer should switch to this port when and only when one plugs headphones on it. It also supports in-line controls.USB-C port: This is a 10G USB-C port. It does not support video and it's not used for providing power into the hub.Middle USB-C port: This is also a 10G USB-C port and does not support video but it can be used to connect the power adapter, so to have a single cable connected to the computer.USB-A port: This is also a 10G port, so all USB ports are 10G, USB 3.2.HDMI: I'm using on a regular monitor although the instructions mentions it supports up to 8K monitors but only 4K monitors on macOS (There are different ways to transmit video between USB-C and Thunderbolt, whereas Macs follows the Thunderbolt format). And that's it for the ports. I think this could've used more USB ports on the other side and that's my only real caveat with this hub, since it demands a much higher price than other portable hubs.So overall, I find it's an excellent implementation for a portable USB-C hub, I just with it had more ports. I like that it's rated for USB4, the Ethernet 2.5G support, all the USB-C ports are 10G and the thoughtful design on the audio port.I'm using it with an Intel MacBook (Thunderbolt 3), and Microsoft Surface Pro 9 (Thunderbolt 4 - Windows 11) and works as expected without any issues.

Not any better than the $70.00 Anker hub and minus one input
I returned this hub. I was hoping this would have solved my MacBook Pro M1 to external WD 5 TB Time Machine drive while still having a port to sync my iPads and iPhone. It didn’t provide enough power from either port to accomplish either task. Until someone comes up with a better solution, I’d stick with what I have.

Very impressive - but you may not need it quite yet
This is by far the most exquisite USB-C hubs I've used over the years. It's also the most expensive, and I'm struggling with how to review it. Satechi makes great hardware, but I can't fully recommend this. The hub contains two USB-C ports, with one designed for Power Delivery, a USB-A hub, headphone jack, and a 2.5GB ethernet adapter (Realtek 8156). And best of all - 8K HDMI output. The specs are amazing. But for 99% of people, it might be overkill. Our household is a Mac household - and as of now - the best I can get output-wise is 4K via HDMI. All our displays at home are 4K. So now I need a device capable of pushing out 8K and a display to see if this works. 99% of people won't have this, so it can't be tested as of yet.So who's this for? I'm struggling to find that out. I wouldn't buy this for my office, when there are better alternatives at less than a third of the cost that top out at 4K. This hub is very impressive, but I don't see it being truly needed for a few years or unless you have cutting-edge hardware.

This is the hub you're looking for.
I am going to get a second one of these to work with my work computer. This thing works perfectly and saves so much time and effort.I went through FOUR different similar hubs from other companies trying to find one which would work with my M1 Mac. All I wanted was a hub to be able to plug in all of my peripherals and get power to my Mac with one single cable. For all of the other devices, the HDMI wouldn't work reliably. It would flicker and the screen would shut off almost immediately, so I had to always plug in a second cable to my Mac to get video to my external monitor. This device is the FIRST to work exactly as you'd expect. Every port works PERFECTLY, including the HDMI. And my Mac is charging properly.I have a Satechi Media Button(and I've used them for many many years), so I'm familiar with Satechi products, and the ones I've used have been good quality. I am very pleased with this product.

Failed after 3 months
I got this because of the 2.5Gbps Ethernet support, and it was great until it failed after 3 months. Moving back to the cheap usbc aukey 1Gbps Ethernet multi-port adapter I've had for over 6 years. This is not a reliable product.

Satechi decepcionando... cosa rara.

Impressive hub
The media could not be loaded. This is nice and lightweight (pictured it next to a battery to give a size comparison) and it will 100% grow with you over time . It is capable of 8k video output . Now I can’t test this as I don’t have an 8k monitor but over time I am sure we will do this is great future proofing. I have used it with an M1 MacBook Air and it has performed flawlessly with an external monitor and I love the fact you have a dedicated PD port in and an additional thunderbolt c port which means you can power and use a thunderbolt device at the same time eg SSD plus having the 8k HDMI port. Is it expensive ? Yep at time f review well north of £100 but it’s made by Satechi and I have used this brand a lot in the past and never been let down so I have no reason to believe anything that this will be a solid performer for some time . Overall this is a pricey but excellent product .
