Perfect Coop For Backyard Chickens
I am extremely pleased with this coop. It was delivered, in a matter of days, flat packed. To begin with I was worried I may struggle to assemble it, but it was a breeze. The instructions supplied were very clear. It was so simple and only needed a phillips screwdriver. I would say it was built within an hour and was a one person job. It is of sturdy construction and is definitely water tight and wind proof. Tested by the terrible British summer weather. My six pullets have a choice of two pop holes front and back. If the sun is too strong on one side I can close one up to give them more shade. There is a wider door on the other side, but I dont tend to use that one yet. There are four roosting struts and an easy pull out floor with galvanised metal that aids cleaning. It has a spacious nesting compartment on one side with a lift up access so getting to eggs will be easy. The legs are about 4 inches in height and i have placed my coop on top of patio bricks to help them keep dry and rot free. Perfect coop and very happy chooks.

Nice chicken coop
I have looked at a number of coops, many are of similar quality to this one but an awful lot more expensive. This coop is advertised as being able to hold eight birds which might be okay if they are small. However, if you are planning on keeping some of the larger hybrid types then four to six would be your limit.I found this coop extremely easy to build. If you have any experience of flat pack furniture then you will have no problems with this whatsoever. There was one hole which did not line up exactly with it's counterpart, but with a little bit of jiggling about the bolt soon went through. The wood has been treated, although I don't think it is pressure treated. I would strongly recommend you do as the instructions suggest, treat it yourself. I chose to apply three coats of yacht varnish. This should leave it well waterproofed and it also makes it look good. Others I have seen have been painted all sorts of designs, it really is your own personal choice. From I started to unpack until I finished the first coat of varnish was just over one hour. In fact I think it took just under 30 minutes to build, it really was that simple. One of the features I like is the air vent on the roof. This ensure any excess warmth will certainly escape easily as it rises inside the coop. Now I just need to get the chickens.

Good price, speedy safe delivery but don't forget to weather proof it!
This is my second hen house as the first one one ( different make and model!) Didn't last long as husband didn't read distructions and realise it needed weatherproofing before use. Too late to do when hens are in residence!! However this one has had at least four coats of weather proofing paint. Be patient and do the painting job properly and it will last alot longer . Now mine is not only weather proof but a fab colour too! Cornflower blue. Very easy to put together and my hens love it! How do I know? They told me......you don't speak chicken? Good price and speedy delivery, a very happy cluck customer.

I don't FeelGoodUK
Let me start on a possible, the service given my Amazon was first class, delivery updates were great and the product arrived as informed and bang on time.Ok, the product, were do I start? I never knew such cheap quality items were available, the wood is cheap, thin and soft, not as I expected, the build took a good hour on my own, I'd advise getting a hand if you still buy one after reading this as its fiddly, the instructions are a waste of time, bolt A isn't bolt A its bolt ? in a little bag with no identification and this is the same for all the fixings, some are on a card some are in bag, none related to the correct letter if indeed they had one labels, pre drilled holes don't line up and the thing will not go square so the prebuilt pull out droppings tray is on an angle and doesn't fit square to the rest of the house 😡. I could go on.I'm not sure the chicks will be safe in it at all?I've never been more disappointed with a product in my life, now it's built I don't really know what to do? £99 down the toilet.

So far so good
Very easy to put up and arrived very quickly. It’s a great wee coop if the sunshine constantly, unfortunately living in rural west coast of Scotland not so good. The doors swell up badly in the rain so you’ll need a screwdriver handy to prise your doors open.Buy yourself some better latches as the ones you get are pretty flimsy. The coop itself is handling the rain really well my 3 chooks are dry and happy and as yet no real dramas. I’ve had to modify it slightly by putting in extra wooden braces on the two ends of the coop just to strengthen the doors if they do swell to much and I have to yank them open. I have 3 chooks but I think 4-5 is manageable as long as they have a run. Also I would recommend you put felt on the roofs to add a wee bit of extra protection.Over all I’m happy with it,a good price and a great service. I may have to write another review after a long hard winter., so far so good.

Well-made and moderately east to assemble
I found all the panels and pieces labelled well to make the step-by-step process of building relatively easy. All the panels are largely pre-assembled and done so to quite a high standard, so it’s just a matter of joining all the sides and the roof segments. It’s not heavy, but it also isn’t flimsy either, and all the segments are well-crafted so as to fit together without any alterations to be made. The instructions recommend coating the house with weatherproof varnish or a waterproof seal, which is an additional cost to protect it from the elements. I got a few litres of Yacht Varnish for £40. Due to it not being weather-sealed when unpacked, and the options on Amazon is to rate its weatherproofing, I have to rate that lowly as that’s just how it comes. The whole thing is first-rate.
