HEATIT ET-24 Freeze Thermostatically Controlled Outlet

This make all of the difference in managing our chicken coop with a very busy life! I have a radiant panel heater plugged in, and it turns it off and on as needed to keep them comfortable during the Colorado winters…. Without overheating their space. It got down to zero the other night outside, and the low in the coop was 28. This is the second year I’ve used it, so seems to be holding up to the test of time. That said, I did order two so I have a backup jic.

Do not trust the HEATIT ET-21 or HEATIT ET-24 for use to turn on heaters or heat lamps for any live animals or for water pipe protection. Purchased a total of 5, 3 HEATIT ET-21 and 2 HEATIT ET-24. We had lows around 20F and only 2 of the 3 HEATIT ET-21 came on. Neither of the 2 HEATIT ET-24 came on. As a test, plug all 5 into a 8 outlet surge protector and placed in the deep freezer for 1 hour. Deep Freezer temperature was 2F. Took out of deep freezer and plugged in surge protector outside with temperature at 22F and only the 2 HEATIT ET-21 came on and stayed on. 1 of the HEATIT ET-24 came on briefly but went off. These will be returned since they are not reliable.

It's doing it's job-not letting my pipes freeze. I have a small heater plugged in to it in the pipe/coldest part of the basement. I also have a remote thermometer set-up.My electric bill is higher but not nearly the cost of a plumber and the aggravation that goes with frozen pipes.

At first it didn't work, but customer support helped me reset it and since then it has worked just fine. We have a feral cat that we care for, and it has been bitterly cold (currently January & -7*) and he is staying snug in his warm shelter. This plug turned the outlet into a temp sensor which turns off when it's warm, and back on when it's cold

Used this with 2 250 watt heat lamps during our freezes down to 20 degrees in my pool pumphouse. Worked great. Came on and off as stated. Would recommend. Really liked the double outlet.
