It Worked straight Off
The packaging was compact and the Apollo secure. The instructions were clear and I could have replaced it myself had I been more confident. I got a friend to install it, and he found it was easy because I was replacing like for like. After many years faultless service my old Apollo wouldn't work properly when I had to replace the battery. I was not happy about that. I now have a perfectly good replacement battery with nothing to put it in. I can't help feeling a little cheated, because sheet of instructions showed what battery to get and how to install it, but the meter stuck at 7 even though in reality it had dropped to 3.

Works very well, take your time on installation!
This fitted to our existing bunded tank which has the require adapter under the lockable lid. The sender unit JUST fits inbetween the outer protective cover and the actual top of the tank, probably by design than by sheer luck. The main gripe with fitting this was that one screw ended up being behind the sender unit, which would be ok however with it being inside the bunded cover the screw was not visible, and if I dropped it the screw/sender would have ended up inside the protective skin of the tank!! So I proceeded carefully.Once in, however, the unit has been a breeze and has given us 2-3 months of monitoring. We now have a good idea of how much oil we are using and know when to get an order in to ensure we dont run out. When setting up the unit make a good measure of the tank height (not the capacity!) using a rigid ruler or similar. Set the DIP switches on the unit and off you go. The sender unit doesn't update the reading instantly, it sends the reading every hour or so (presumably to ensure a long battery life) so dont worry if the unit doesnt reflect the level straight away, leave it for a few hours and the readings should update correctly. This is the same case when you get a fuel delivery.....the reading wont update straight away (unless your delivery happens to be just before a new update on the sender!).The receiver just plugs into a standard 13A socket and works well over a long distance. Our tank is in an outbuilding over 15m away and the unit receives fine even via a 2ft thick stone wall. All in all a good purchase. Just take your time on installation and follow the instructions. A+

My last one lasted 14 years
My previous one lasted 14 years with two battery changes so when it finally died I thought I'd buy the same. Just check the dip switches are set correctly for your size of tank before installing, link the tank monitor to your indoor plug gauge and away you go. All very simple.

Accurate oil level monitor
This unit was easy to fit to my oil tank. I paired it with the receiver unit and then installed it on the tank. You have to measure the depth of the tank and set up some dip switches on the receiver unit and if you do this correctly then the Apollo seems to be fairly accurate. I hope it will last a few years but only time will tell.

Nit great for larger tanks
It's not really that accurate for larger tanks, might be better suited for smaller ones
