Best bang for your buck out there :)!!
My 2nd Vaer - bought the first one from Vaers website bought this one from Amazon.I wanted it for the weekend and vaers website couldn’t guarantee it- I hope they didn’t lose too much to Amazon on the sale .I bough the 42 mm which also has the date ( the 38mm doesn’t ) a great size for my 7 1/2 inch wrist .I also have the D4 meridian in navy with a couple of extra straps ( great value on Vaer $20 !)A very high quality robust sharp looking watch - very very happy with it -I love the ability to swap out straps - my only ( very mild ) gripe is that the premium steel bracelet for the 38mm doesn’t fit my new 42 mm ( obviously !;)Found a nice quick release strap here and it’s perfectly suitableI honestly don’t think there’s a better value out there ..Well done Vaer

It’s a stunner
It feels amazing on the wrist. Really, more spectacular in person. Comfortable and confidence building to wear. Very happy. 42mm Meridian Navy.

Great watch, great value, one extremely annoying quirk
I really like this watch. I think the design is unimpeachable: the fonts on the bezel are utilitarian and clear, the bezel has a delightful crunchiness when you turn it, the entire face feels solid and well-crafted, and the hands are legible and distinct. I wish they used a more powerful lume, as it's not the brightest lume in pitch darkness, but it's at least serviceableHowever: the crown has an annoying habit of unscrewing extremely easily. I bought this watch to be a daily driver, something I'm wearing while I'm hiking or walking the dog or riding my bike or swimming or whatever. I've found that I have to monitor the watch very closely if I'm being active: if I hit a big bump on my bike, the very first thing I have to do is check the crown. Same if I'm hiking and bump it against a tree or if I'm roughhousing with my dog and she clips the watch. I haven't taken it fully swimming yet, but I'm worried about how the crown will react to strong tides, and for a diver that shouldn't be a worryAgain: I think overall it's great and I won't be returning it. But I advise other buyers to keep this in mind, and I implore Vaer to figure out a way to keep the crown locked down more solidly

May be the perfect watch
Is there a perfect watch? I guess that's debatable and depends a lot on personal preference but this comes close. Among dive watches costing less than $300 you'd be hard pressed to find anything better. I love that they offer two sizes as well. So many watches today are enormous wrist clocks and since I have a smaller wrist, they look ridiculous on me. The 38mm version of the DS4 is perfect. I have several vintage watches and it wears much more like those on the wrist, very understated and classy. The case is hefty and sold with beautiful contours and finish. The screw down crown is substantial and easy to operate. The engraved case back is a thing of beauty. The watch comes with two bands, an FKM dive strap (that alone is worth $40 - $50 if you bought it separately) and a khaki colored nylon strap. You can also use any standard 20mm strap. The design is such that many straps look good so you can easily change the look of the watch for different applications. For swimming and outdoor use, the FKM is probably the best choice, however.I enjoy wearing my vintage watches but this will be my workhorse watch for every day and what's better than a workhorse that looks and performs like a show horse?

Watch got water inside
Was excited to buy this watch. Loved the look and style.Just swam in the pool a handful of times and water got inside. The one time I wanted to wear on a fishing trip it fogged.Really ridiculous. It is a dive watch for Christ sake. 200M and couldn't handle my pool.Contacted the company and they said, "Did you unscrew the crown? Because if you did the warranty is void." Didn't even know you could unscrew the "crown". Not sure about anyone else, but I pull my watches out of the box and wear. Never been told to screw down a crown before. The company seemed more interested in not fixing the problem, but trying to pass blame. Horrible customer service.

My New Daily Wear!
I am a watch person, appreciating complicated movements, Swiss engineering, Japanese engineering, material selection, accuracy and durability. My Vaer DS4 is rock solid, waterproof, keeps time, and looks hundreds of dollars above price. Solar is more than added bonus than I thought. Unlike an automatic that has to be reset when you leave it in your drawer for too long, this will go six months on one charge of six hours in the sunlight. And despite the band being rubber, they somehow made it as comfortable as leather, which makes it a great choice for all day wear. Couldn’t be happier!

A decent watch, but not without flaws….
Watch arrived on time and decently packaged by Amazon. My first impressions of the watch is that it is your standard diver that resembles a well known and much more expensive dive watch. Watch does not have much heft but seems to be finished well with some polished and brushed areas. Crown is stiff when you screw it in and out and with some sharp edges. Bezel has audible clicks but feels cheap and has some minor play. Also think the aluminum bezel ring looks cheap. Case back is finished nice. Comes with two straps, the rubber tropical is mounted and is just a basic rubber strap. Other is a tan 2 piece nylon which in my opinion would not look right on this watch. 20 mm lug width so plenty of options out there. Biggest plus for this watch is it is solar powered, so no battery changes and has a decent quartz movement so should be plenty accurate.Overall makes a decent beater, but is pricey for what it is. I have owned multiple divers through the years and have seen better and worse. I honestly have a couple of Casio Duro that seem to be better fit and finished than this watch. It puts me in the mind of the cheap model Invicta diver to be honest. After wearing a day or so decided to keep it and plan on putting it on a bracelet ordered from Vaer, but I seriously doubt that I would ever purchase another watch of this brand.
