Great book for OLDER girls
I bought this for my 6-year old based on reviews. It is a really great, easy to read and informative book. It is not dumbed down in any way, but manages to have a voice that a young girl can understand. That said, it is way too much for my 6-year old. It is absolutely more for a 10-12 year old, a girl on the verge of getting her period/boobs/etc. My daugther isnt even aware yet or asking the questions that this book answers, so I am just going to keep it aside until she is ready. Still, I am glad I ordered it, I just wish I had waited a few years!

Great Book for a Young Girl
My eight year is loving this book. I read it first before letting her read it and felt there was only a few things that she didn't apply yet to her but she still read the whole book and we talked about things in the book that she questioned and didn't understand. All in all its a great beginner book and the next book we get will explain about babies as this book only talks about the girls body and the changes coming. Excellent book. As a side note, the previous reviews I read before I purchased the book was excellent and is really helpful in making the decision exactly what book to get.

I ordered this book for my eleven year old granddaughter ...
I ordered this book for my eleven year old granddaughter, to make the conversation about the changes she should expect a little easier. It just arrived this weekend so it’s too soon to say much about it. However, I reviewed the chapter headings before I ordered the book and it appears to me that it covers all of the most important topics. She and her mother will be reading the book together.

It's full of valuable information and it answers questions that a girl may not feel comfortable talking about
This book it an absolute must have for parents with daughters, to prepare them for puberty. I brought it for my 10 year old. It's full of valuable information and it answers questions that a girl may not feel comfortable talking about. It's a great icebreaker and communication starter for those very sensitive subjects. I read it from cover to cover to make sure it didn't cross the line. It directs the child to talk to mom, doctor or other trusted adult about certain topics. I give it an A***

Great way to discuss
If you have an adolescent boy or girl I find these books incredibly helpful. I bought this one for my granddaughter as she is 10 and things are starting to change for her. I asked her mom first and she thought it was a great idea. It opens dialogue and allows the discussions to flow when the child is ready for each question. I bought these types of books for my son as I was a single mom and it was so very helpful.

I wanted to get something to help her learn more about her body and make her more comfortable with how its changing
I got this book for my 10 yr old daughter. I wanted to get something to help her learn more about her body and make her more comfortable with how its changing. I also didn't want anything that talked about sex since she is only 10. This book was perfect. As soon as it came she read it cover to cover and felt comfortable asking me about the subjects in the book. Definitely recommend!

I do believe the author mostly does a good job of explaining the subjects
I really believe this book is aimed at such a wide group of ages. I appreciate the style the information is given, but I think the range of subjects it so broad in age. From beginner information about puberty to the not so beginner information about first visit to a gynecologist. Speaks of healthy eating and goes into eating disorders. Talks about stress and about abusing drugs. While it does it very eloquently from an adult's point of view, my daughter being 9 doesn't know what getting high means. I understand that this conversation needs to happen and it will, but when looking for a book about what is happening to her body, I don't believe I need to cover what getting high exactly means (which it doesn't, just expects it's reader to know what getting high is). I know many will tell me I am living in a bubble, and maybe that is true, but she already has so many concerns about growing up and the changes happening. I don't need to give her more to worry about before she is ready to know about. I do believe the author mostly does a good job of explaining the subjects, but the subjects are broad for a specific age group.
