I’m rating this drawing/sketching kit four stars because it comes nicely packed for beginners. The pictures from the website do make you think the items are bigger. However, that can easily be overlooked. What I like the most is the perfect amount of tools for those aspiring or continuing artists. I used to do art all my years in school. Sadly, I left art long ago despite it being my passion and career I wanted to pursue. Sometimes all you need is a little push; drawing or sketching kits like this give you the confidence boost necessary without intimidating you. I would have liked the sketch pads to be a bit bigger, but the small ones are still perfect. You can take these small sketch pads on the go for practice or fun. I encourage anyone wanting to get back into art to push forward. You’re fully capable! I remember sketching with regular crayons and pencil colors when I was little. Sure this kit isn’t prisma colors or any other well-known brand sketching/drawing tool…but it’s a starter kit for beginners or continuing kit for those aspiring artists who once loved art. Don’t be ashamed to start with this kit that comes equipped with enough tools to help you get back into drawing; you can also use this for fun or on the run if you like to sketch while you’re out. Overall, I recommend this product. I’ll be posting pictures so you can see what the package comes with. I really liked everything including the quality; this truly is for beginners, but those who love art find much worth even in these humble tools.

This set has pretty much everything you need to do greyscale drawings.I particularly like the woodless soft graphite pencils, since that's what I wind up using the most. The included knife is also a win, inasmuch as sharpening blending stumps in a pencil sharpener is bad for the blade. The tin is compact, and backpack-friendly.Having one of each hardness of graphite pencil will be fun for a novice, though in real use the softer ones get used up MUCH more quickly. (But the difference between 10B and 12B is pretty minimal, and there are appropriately more Bs than Hs).The set isn't perfect - the hardnesses are written on the graphite pencils in gold, and they're really hard to read. The pencil extender is double ended, but only one end fits anything in the set. The sanding pad is a bit too coarse. The white charcoal leads are a bit fragile (another good use for the knife). I would have been more impressed if the paper pads had been different weights/tooths (and spiral bound is easier to use).Overall, however, this is a good set for the beginner, or for the experienced artist who wants to replenish their stocks.
