I bought this to install a recessed lightswitch for a loft into a piece of osb, which is 18mm thick.This is just beyond the limit of the two extending lugs, so I carefully shaved off the corners of the lugs with a stanley knife to remove the plastic that was limiting their travel and then reinserted them into the box.It worked perfectly fine, no issues whatsoever.I was that impressed with it, this became my go-to pattress box for awkwardly recesssed fittings.

I don't like these much, proper metal boxes secured in the wall are much sturdier, but sometimes you need this type. There are a couple of places in our 1960s house where there are switches and sockets mounted in a place where there is nothing behind the plasterboard to fix a normal box. I had one light switch where the screws had been cross threaded and on trying to remove them, they jammed completely and then the metal threads they screw in to started to turn within the plastic mounts, and so the only way I could get the switch off then was to smash the whole box to bits. So I needed this replacement. It works, but use good quality screws (none came with it) and don't over tighten them, As for price, they are much cheaper elsewhere, but (as usual) I needed it in a hurry.
