Perfect Replacement
This is a perfect replacement to my old one. My ice maker stopped filling and water dispenser stop dispensing. Changed the pump and thinking I got bad water filters. Then it occurred to me to check the valve. Turns out it was blocked with calcium and the valve was frozen stuck. Easy replacement. Just need to make sure the rubber washers are lined up properly with tightening. Installed in 10 minutes. Turned the water back on. Now have ice and water again. Only regret is that I could have saved $100 if I checked this little valve first before replacing the water pump on the fridge.

good
The valve is installed on the water heater supply line to provide the water to the humidifier. The same valve was twenty years old, and its rubber seal was aging and cracking. I found the brass pipe was too thick for the needle of the valve to penetrate. Therefore, I drilled a tiny hole on the pipe and then clamped the valve on the pipe, I applied the waterproof sealant around the rubber pad. Now it works without leaking.

Good for what it is
I recently found out these aren't in use anymore but, I'll still review it. Eventually I'm going to install what I should be using.First off, I don't like using it. I feel like it's an old idea and there's better options out there. This thing is an utterly pain to install. You need to alternate tightening the screws so it sits right or your going to have leaks. If you don't tightening the valve all the way, you're going to have leaks. Didn't tighten the compression nut enough? Well guess what you have! Before I moved into my house the HVAC guy who installed the new furnace and whole house dehumidifier must have hated his life. Instead of installing a fitting that doesn't require poking a hole in the pipe, he put this in.If you are replacing an old saddle valve this will work. If you have the ability and the space buy the fitting that has a compression fitting built in, I can't remember what they are called. Sharkbite even makes them (Even easier).
