When you need something bigger, this is definitely it! Huge power for a very reasonable price.

The iron is nice and heats up well. However, the tips that came with it are too big and awkward to use, especially for small projects.

I used this iron to solder guitar pickup covers back on. I previously had purchased a 40W iron, but that was not nearly hot enough. Using a regular soldering iron, the base of the pickup as a heat sink, so it soaks up the heat, and doesn't allow the solder to become hot enough to spread properly on the base, so you need something much hotter. This 80 W iron did the job easily.This iron heated up the area very quickly, which was safer for the windings, I was able to apply a generous portion of solder, problem solved, marriage saved.

Handle melted during first day of use. Never had a a soldering iron fail so quickly before. Now the hot part wobbles around when we try to use it. Stop using cheap plastic on a thermal appliance - this brand didn't used to be junk. Feels like Temu.

Item was great. However, I accidentally ordered too high amperage soldering iron for project intended so returned it.

Heats up quickly and works well but after the first use it started to discolor as if its running too hot. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. I like the interchangeable tips and option to go smaller

This is the big boy soldering iron. I bought this to be able to solder large gauge wires together and tin them. Found some other uses as well. Heats up fast and heats what you want to solder in a decent amount of time. 4 stars because if you set it down the tip will touch the ground because it is imbalanced.
