It does the job.
As per the title, it does the job and it does it very well by comparison to the setup that I was running before. The Halo H80X set was bought to replace a Tenda MW6 setup.I've always had issues with the Tenda system, constantly dropping out and moving devices from one node to another even if the device was already on the best node at the time.Anyway, we have added extra area for the network to cover and there was no way that the Tenda mesh was going to be able to handle it.I spent about a week researching the many options, and this offering seemed pretty good for the price, so I ordered it. As soon as it arrived, I set about the installation, and within about 30 minutes it was up and running perfectly. The app is brilliant, and we have an amazing range of coverage. I have a workshop in the garden where I have a few computers and a variety of machines that depend on a good network connection, which just wasn't possible before. We have a 100Mbs internet connection, and was only achieving around 9Mbs over WiFi on my phone in my workshop previously, but now it's up to 90Mbs.I know it's not entirely fair to compare this system to the Tenda system due to it being much faster by design, but even so, it seems to be just of a better quality, even the app is more usable.

Easy to set up and great connectivity
We live in a 600 year old L-shaped cottage with two storeys, an extension to the rear and the equivalent of 4 bedrooms, so not a simple house to get decent WiFi connectivity. We have struggled ever since we moved here to get any decent connection and have had regular periods where we could barely stream YouTube on a phone let alone watch a proper streaming service like Prime or Netflix. We tried a variety of plug in extenders but they were horrendously complicated to set up, dropped out regularly and then needed resetting all round the house. We also found our upload and download speeds dropped dramatically the further away from the main router you were. Working from home in the extension office my husband was struggling with constant dropouts during online meetings so in desperation he decided to take advantage of a special price on the Mercusys 3 extender mesh system and hope it would improve matters. He us delighted. The setup and app was very simple, not like the horrendous process with the other plug in units. We've checked every part of the house and connection speeds are virtually identical to plugging into the router. We have had no issues with streaming and the app is very straightforward too. You can easily turn on a guest network from the app if you want. I wish we'd done this seven years ago. We are both very tech savvy but are certain this setup would suit people who have only a basic grasp of technology. We'd have been happy to pay the full price but at the offer price it was even better value.

Excellent - Stable WiFi throughout the house
The mesh system is used with a Three Home Broadband router (5g internet). Prior to the mesh system, the WiFi performance from the router was very poor as I had to keep disconnecting and reconnecting devices on a daily basis. Wired connections were fine, the main issue was just the WiFi.The WiFi now runs through the mesh system after disabling the WiFi from the router. This has transformed the experience we have had since trying out 5g internet, which is now a very positive experience. There are no dead spots in the house, which is great.

Just doesn't deliver
This is based on the system being set up in a modern 4 bed detached house, not small but far from massive.Setup of the main node via the app is great. After this is where I started getting issues which didn't reflect manufacturers claims. The other two nodes ended up being less than 5m from the main node otherwise the app stated weak signal. There were no electrical goods in the way that may interfere with signals. As such coverage was substantially less than offered and I expected.I ran with the set up for a couple of weeks, but encountered the following.Compared to BT hub and1 disc, coverage was very poor.Connection frequently dropped off, even when 2m from main node and app showing 'excellent ' signal.Satellite nodes frequently dropped to weak signal for seemingly no obvious reason.Despite being connected to weak signal node and being less than 2m from the main node and 5m from the weak signal node, my phone connection didn't swap to what would have been, in theory, the better node as per manufacturers claims.Overall, for me it just doesn't offer, in real terms, anything close to the claims in the listing. And just not fit for purpose.
