Used this on a 4th gen Ram 1500 4x4. In order to replace lower ball joints on this truck, the steering knuckle needs to be removed. I'm not a fan of smashing the aluminum knuckle with a BFH, that's where this tool came in. This one tool made quick work of both ball joints and the tie rod end. Astro tools, always good quality and good price.

This is a great ball joint tool. Fits where others do not. Accepts a wider ball joint stud than pretty much every other one I tried. There was a pitman model that would work but required more disassembly of other parts to fit. This fits with no problem and separates the ball joint. Would recommend over others.

Works to pop off the steering knuckle from the lower ball joints on my Jeep ZJ with a WJ knuckle conversion. No other tool I could find would work because there is not much clearance in there. It does sit at an angle at first, but once you start tightening it, it straightens up because the thin parts do flex a bit. The only other option really is to pound on the top of the knuckle with a large hammer, but in my case, I was deforming the surface and the knuckle still wouldn't budge.

Purchased it to removed the lower ball joint on Transit vans and it works like a charm. Just make sure to take the flat piece out that threads in.

Didn’t work well on the front joints on a 2016 Crosstrek. It kept slipping off and had to figure out an alternate method of removing the joints.
