Holds a loaf of bread, fits in fridge
Others on the market are designed more for phones and tablets, but this holds a loaf or two of bread. But, it's still small and light enough to toss in the fridge. For me, it's less awkward to use than a timed padlock on a cabinet or the fridge and I read a review on one saying it could be opened with a hard yank. And those padlocks have limited-uses emergency codes I could be tempted to keep around.I found no way to defeat the timed mode - mashing buttons just got me locked out for a day, and after having the batteries removed for eight hours it just picked up where it left off. The box is lightweight and if I could assemble it again I might use super glue, but it accomplishes the mission - when something is in there it feels like it's off in an alternate universe like Schrodinger's cat.Protip: as shown, tape a small bottle cap over the Days button as it's dangerous. I would've dinged a star for this and the lack of time presets, but I want to evangelize this box (am not affiliated or compensated).

GREAT for the price
This little guy, for less than $20, was a terrific compromise between my partner and I. He hated having so many snacks available, it's too difficult for him to not just reach for them. I am more measured and I can take my time eating things, but I'd run out of snacks immediately after buying them because of the reaching. The "I would never buy these in the first place because I would eat them all too fast!" and "I don't want to go to the store every time I want a snack!" bickering all went away immediately with this.I even found that I wasn't reaching for snacks as readily with this thing, opting to eat less of them out of inconvenience. If you want a good compromise that's super easy for differences in the way snacks are consumed, or if you just want to be more measured in your snack eating, this device is a great one to get.

Love it
I love it and my kids hate it hahaha! It's durable, You can set a lock down for Days, hours and minutes. My only complaint is.. there are two features on this lock box and one of them locks it down for whatever number of days you set it for and you can't use your code or the backup code to open it up. You're going to have to wait the x number of days you set it for. And so I accidentally did this and I had to break into the box and purchase a new one lol. So be careful with the settings unless you know for sure you want to lock it down for whatever amount of time you want to do it for. I hope this explanation is clear.

Adequate for storing electronics until chores are complete
We've been using this for about a month to hold electronics. The kids have to finish their chores before they can have screen time and were sneaking the electronics before. Now we make sure we have them all before bed and we lock them up each evening. We lock and unlock/open and close this box multiple times a day and it looks and works like new. This has been a game changer for us. Easy for parents to use and, so far, impossible for kids to tamper with. It's not a safe that would keep a thief away, but it works for this purpose.

Carefully consider size
Locking mechanism works well, but we relied on the measurements provided and they ended up being about 0.5" too small (they did not count the size of the walls themselves, so the interior of the safe actually ends up being 0.5-0.75" smaller than the listed specs). We intended to place a Chromebook inside along with an iPad to teach some discipline in using electronics and screen time for our child -- the iPad Mini will fit, but not a full size iPad or a standard classroom Chromebook.Otherwise, the unit looked and functioned as intended.
